Five Question Friday

1. What do you enjoy doing the most with your spouse? Besides vacations? Just your normal going out, dinner, drinks, talking, playing pool....like the olden days!

2. How do you eat your taco? From the top or from the side?  People eat tacos from the top? Why? The only tacos I eat are the chicken tacos from Tasty Tacos...from the side!

3. Have you ever shut off the basement light and ran like a fool because you knew someone was down there and would get you?  I guess when I was younger I had probably pysched myself out like that, can't say that has happened in a while though. What a weird question!

4. If you could change one thing about you what would it be and why? I would like to have more patience as a mother. And not be afraid to do things I haven't done before.

5. What age do you think is appropriate to have the "bird and the bees" talk with your children? I don't want to think about this yet. I supposed when they start developing or school is talking to them about it or they start hearing things from their friends.

Girls rule!

So the view from the living room now looks like this...can you tell we have two girls? Can you tell we went subtle? :)
Presleys bright pink room, made her SO happy!
 Baby G's purple
 Our smooth ass fireplace

Many painting touch ups are needed and flooring gets started tomorrow. They said they are aiming for 3 more weeks, which would be perfect.....so it will be more like four!  The countdown is on!

8 weeks to go.....

I had my doctors appt this morning, up about 2 pounds so I'm at a doctors total of 16.3 pounds! Everything looked good, measured right on. They scheduled another ultrasound for 2 weeks to keep track on the size of the baby. If they are trying to convince me to have a csection, they are doing a good job of it! I won't go into details on what the doctor told me could happen to my 'girl parts'! LOL!
The other day Presley asked me why my belly button has 'closed'!  I've been feeling pretty good, just 'heavy'. Baby seems to have stretched out more upward, I feel her alot more in my upper right rib cage, I don't remember feeling P up that high! And I miss sleeping thru the night without having to pee!

Life is good!

Here is my baby girl at the fair....she was so excited that this ice cream cone was as big as her! (and it had PINK ice cream!)
She has been so good about having dry diapers in the morning! (except for the one night we had her in underwear!) She wakes up and says 'I dry my diaper!!'.
She did finally go poop in the potty.....once.....and hasn't since then.

I have read two books in the last 1-2 weeks. Cemetery Girl, a mystery...it was good and a little weird. They gave you a lot of background into the characters and it was difficult to read as the mother since it is about a child who goes missing.
Then I read Confessions of a Scary Mom.....SO FUNNY!!!! and so many true statements! I would recommend this book to any mother who needs a good laugh! There are so many quotes in this book that I want to share with you but I might have to save that for another time!

The house! Coming along, even with our super slow painter, who I won't complain about since he let us pay him on the side for all the different colors we are having him paint...way cheaper than most people and I'm sure much cheaper than going thru our builder!
He said he would have it done by the end of today....I'll be happy with Monday or Tuesday.
Here are the kitchen cabinets! Flooring will be going in this week and countertops were measured last week to hopefully go in soon! I love, love, love the wood!

more to come tomorrow....Steve needs to get to his fantasy football draft!!!

FIve Question Friday

1. If you could have been (could be) any profession you wanted (brains and $$$ no problem) what would it be? What? Are you thinking that underwriting mortgage loans is not what I have dreamed of my whole life? Putting people into the houses of their dreams, when they have shitty credit and have to borrow money from their parents for the downpayment, come on!

2. How often do you clean out your car? Not as often as I need to! I have papers in the back of my car that I need to take into work to be shredded...that have been there since we moved in April! When I had my Sebring convertible I kept that sucker clean (of course, when you have the top down on your car you can't really have trash flying around or items that people can steal sitting in it!)

3. Do you wish there was such a thing as fashion police or are you deeply relieved? Fashion police welcome! I'm sure I have my days that people look at me and think 'What is she trying to pull off? Nothing good!' But there are many people out there that need help from the fashion police. I love watching What Not To Wear b/c of this reason.

4. What's your go to food/drink/activity when stressed? I can only choose one thing? How about whatever is available and convenient? I'm hoping once I have this baby and we have a routine down for our family that I can limit my sugar intake and start running again....This is a much better option than what I have going on right now with the spoonfuls of sugar I take in. (Mary Poppins is all for spoonfuls for sugar, so it shouldn't be that bad!)

5. If you had twins, what would you name them?  This really isn't a fair question for a prego girl b/c we aren't telling our name...oh yeah, that's right, b/c we still don't have one! We have 8 weeks to figure it out! :) About once a week one of us will say "we really need to decide on a name"....and that will be the end of the conversation until the next week.

Wonderful weekend

Saturday I got up and put my 5 hours in at work (obviously not a good employee, since I didn't put in the 8 hours I was supposed to, oops) But I had to get home so we could go to Boston's 2nd birthday party!
Samantha made awesome, little Sesame Street cake pops (way too time consuming and detailed for this girl) but they were really cute and very good! Boston thought it was funny that he was eating Cookie Monsters' face!

Jon got Boston a Radio Flyer tricycle....which Presley loved! LOL.
Boston is just a hair too small for it, but he is only going to get bigger and it will be the perfect size soon enough.
Presley can always find a way to get what she wants. She 'let' Boston sit on the back of his new trike or ride her small ($5 garage sale) trike, just so she could get a turn!  (Notice her Tangled princess dress that she wanted to wear to the party)
After the party we headed to Earlham for the 2nd annual back-to-school party. Jason and Christie basically invite the entire town over for food, drinking, talking and dancing (they get a DJ!). It is always a lot of fun, with a ton of kids running around playing. Cousin Ava went to bed very early, so P didn't really play with anyone and I didn't know that many people this time (and a lack of alcohol minimizes my conversations with strangers) but I ate my way thru the night!

Sunday we did alot of running around and hanging out. It was a nice, family day together. We met Lisa and Jared up at our house and got to show them around. I know they are excited to get into their new house too! We have the upper cabinets in and the painter is done staining all the wood, he is still moving a little slow for my liking...but the stuff he stained does look awesome! Hopefully, (fingers crossed) by the end of this week the painting will be done (as I probably said last week), the cabinets in and possibly the countertops (that might be wishful thinking). I'll have to take more updated pics this weekend!

Another week gone by

Monday Steve was able to make one of his dreams come true. He found a good deal on a riding lawn mower. It's bigger than what he needs but he's in love. I might have to have an intervention. He picked the mower and took it to Holly's to store until we move. Tonight he went and mowed Holly's yard so he could drive it! So cute! Boys and their toys!
I took a risk of taking Presley to gymnastics on Tuesday night while Steve went to the fair with some friends. After last weeks disaster we were both nervous on how it would play out. But she did great! It took some coaxing but eventually she was excited to do everything. The classes are getting so full of kids...I'm calling it the after-Olympics-frenzy! I'm hoping some of these kids will drop out after a while, it is just so hard to keep all the kids focused, listening and good for that long!

Wednesday I decided that we needed to head up the fair. I wanted to eat! We went after work and it wasn't too hot or too busy (and of course half price admission!) So we ate a corn dog, a cup of fruit, steak kabob, mini donuts, cup of cookies, a pickle dog, mac and cheese bites and ice cream! We were only there for about 3 hours but it was worth it and this girl was a hurting unit after all that walking! It hurt my belly, back, feet, hips....I had pushed my limit on walking!

Thursday I was still in pain from the walking...waddling in full effect! Then about 9:30-10 I started to not feel so good. Alot of pain in the belly and back, not able to focus...then it got worse and I felt nauseous and didn't feel like I could sit up at my desk. I started to get hot and sweaty, almost like I was going to pass out. That's when I called the doctors to see what I should do, they wanted me to come in and get monitored. I knew there was no way I was going to drive and Steve insisted on taking me himself so we got to the doctor about 11:30. I was feeling better by now (of course) but still had on and off pain in my belly and back (and not like contractions, different than that).  They did a non-stress test and made sure I wasn't having contractions (and I wasn't!), the stress test really only showed a lot of fetal movement so that was good. Basically, I was told to rest and hydrate! So I took the afternoon off and went home and napped! And even after a 2.5 hour nap, I was still able to go to bed at 8:30! The off and on pain finally stopped about 3 am and today I felt like a new, well-rested woman! I'm bummed that I missed dinner with Holly and our friend April (who I haven't seen since January!) but we have already rescheduled!

Blah, Blah......
- Two weeks until meet the teacher for P's preschool!
- My friend Janelle was due to have her baby last Sunday...she is still waiting for her baby girl to come. Stubborn little thing! :)
- We found out that the lady who bought our old house is having to replace the sewer line to the house! Yikes! This can be costly, I feel bad but on the other hand....we didn't know about it and we are happy that it isn't us having to pay for this!
- The painter on our house is very particular...which is normally good, but not when it is taking him forever! Hurry up!

Five Question Friday

1. What's the one thing you buy every time you walk into the store? I can't think of anything! Fruit? We seem to go thru a lot of fruit and it doesn't last very long so we buy fruit everywhere!

2. If you had a day all to yourself how would you spend it? Cleaning, laundry and reading. Kind of boring huh? That's ok with me!

3. Are you a speed limit driver? If not, over or under? I drive over the speed limit by 5-10 mph, usually. Unless I'm in a 25 mph zone, then I feel like I need to stay at 25!

4. What's your favorite dessert to make, homemade or from a mix?? My mom's peach pie. My mom's cream cheese squares. My mom's jello cake. My mom's monster cookies. Better than Sex cake, which I am actually capable of making myself....really, this list could go on and on.

5. Would you rather have a spider or a mouse scurry across your face (no copping out and saying "neither!!")? My first thought was spider, but only if it is big enough to NOT crawl up my nose or in my ears. If it is a small spider then I guess I would have to say mouse. But either way GROSS, I do not do well with creepy crawlies!

30 weeks!

That means only 10 weeks left!
I had my doctors appt today, nice and boring. Gained < 1 pound so that would be 13 total pounds (per doctors records!). I can deal with that. Everyone keeps telling me that I don't look big but I feel like it. Baby is measuring right on between 30-31 weeks and had a good heartbeat in the 150's (where it has been since the first time I heard it!).
I saw a different doctor this time who mentioned the size of Presley, but he also mentioned that if this baby appears to be much bigger than her that we might be able to look at a c-section due to the 'difficulty' (aka tearing and forceps) I had in delivering a small baby! So again, they want to keep monitoring her growth...yada, yada, yada.

I don't have too many complaints, besides the pressure when walking too far or too fast, I miss being able to turn over! I already hate getting up in the middle of the night to pee, mainly b/c it is so hard for me to fall back asleep with all the millions of things running thru my head.

Presley got to feel her kicking again today! She asks questions, wanting to know why the baby goes in my tummy and not up in my chest? And why the baby didn't come out at the old house and if the baby will come out at the new house. I'm glad she is interested and hope that pays off for us later on!

Random

- I finished another book last night! Totally Desperate Mom by Wendy Hagen (I read her blog also)....good and sometimes laugh out loud funny. So nice to be able to relate to other moms and know that we all go thru the same things, even though sometimes you feel that you are all alone in what you go thru. However, this book was a bit on the religious side. Not that I don't have faith or believe in God and I do appreciate her outlook and spirituality but there are only so many bible verses I can read. Still, it was short and sweet and totally relateable (is that a word?)!
- My mom made a peach pie this weekend, it is my absolute favorite. I can't get enough. Now, if I could only get her to make me one every week!
- Presley is funny, I don't think she means to be most of the time. As any normal 3 year old they ask questions and sometimes you don't even think about the answers! We were watching Olympic wrestling yesterday and I said that we were going for the guy dressed in blue, she asked why. I said 'well, he lives where we do' (meaning the United States) and she looked at me and said 'in an apartment?' Not quite, but how in the world do you explain states and the United States to a 3 year old. She knows she lives in Iowa and that we went to Texas, but that is her knowledge of 'states'!
- She also notices things that you don't really think about. When we were in Okoboji, I was drinking an Odouls and she looked at me and said 'mommy, babies can't have beer!'. Oops! I had to explain that it was fake beer...real good example mom!
And we were talking about cousins, aunts and uncles and I said something about Aunt Roxanne being Devins mommy. And she said to me that Devin didn't have a daddy! They got divorced a couple years ago and P doesn't know so I tried then to explain how Devin does have a daddy he just isn't around all the time and how mommy's and daddy's aren't always together. Another conversation, that is just too hard to have with a 3 year old! (which I'm sure will only be increasing as the years go on!)
- Normally when she eats peas she says they make her strong (as she flexes) and today she said that strawberries are good for her body! Not sure where she heard that, but ok! Love it!

Weekend update

Man, it seems like so long ago and it is only Monday! Friday night we decided to go out to dinner at Lonestar, and all three of us got steaks! Then we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get an idea of all the stuff we are going to have to buy when we move....my credit card might have to come out of hiding!
Saturday it worked out that Steve didn't have to work! We decided to hit up the farmers market since we figured it wouldn't be as busy with people headed to the fair. It was the perfect morning, the weather was great, we got some good fruit and enjoyed strolling the market!
Then we took my parents up to the house to show them the progress and the painter was there getting things ready to be stained, sealed and primed! Woohoo, I love when other people work weekends!
Presley and I had some quiet time while Steve ran some errands and then we swapped...Steve stayed with P and I went with my friend Cindy out for appetizers and some long over due girl talk! We took my wedding ring to get cleaned (amazing that a good ring cleaning can do!) and then took a walk around the pond out at Jordan Creek. It was nice to have some girl time, it really has been too long!

Sunday, I wasn't lucky enough to get out of work....I worked for about 5 hours in the morning and then came home and basically vegged out with my baby girl! She played SO good all day!! Steve played house with her in the morning, then she played puppies with me (which includes her fetching things and wanting to be locked in her 'kennel'...too bad she never stays put! HA), then we played grocery store! She literally brought me all of the toys in the apartment, 5-10 at a time, with her purse on her arm, made me 'ring' her up, give her a total and then she would give me her money to buy them. I had to sack them up, she took her purchases, thanked me after I thanked her and told her to have a nice day! And the process would start over! It was fun....the first 5 times.
And then of course, she spent a lot of time in her room being bossy to her babies. She would yell at them! I kept telling her to be nice and she would explain that they weren't being quiet or going night-night!

Great weekend!

Five Question Friday

1. Thunder storms- love them or hate them? LOVE THEM...most of the time. Unless you're talking power outages and sump pump not working and water backs up into the basement.....but sitting in the house, under a blanket, watching a movie with a thunderstorm outside, that I love!

2. Do your kids get back to school clothes? Well, since we do start preschool on the 7th I have been thinking about getting her a '1st day of school' outfit. It's always fun to go to school with new clothes, so as she gets older...yes, there will be back to school clothes!

3. Do you golf? Do you watch it? Heck no! First of all, it is too expensive of a hobby...2nd of all the first time I went with Steve to the range, he got frustrated with me b/c I was swinging the club like a baseball bat...sorry! But yes, we do watch golf in this house. I never thought I would want to or enjoy it, but for some reason I really do!

4. Showers or baths?  Showers! After we remodeled our bathroom at the old house I said I would take baths...I never did. However, in the new house we will have a whirlpool tub! I already told Steve that I will have some mommy time in the tub with my kindle and a bottle glass of wine!

5. What's the strangest meal you ever ate? I had a tiny, small bite of cuy (guinea pig) when I went with my family and the Riders to an Ecuadorian restaurant in WDSM. Not bad, similar to dark turkey meat though I would never order it. David tore this little guinea pig apart and enjoyed every minute of playing with the head when he was done! (as a typical boy would do!) Other than that, I don't eat strange things, I'm not that daring!

Exhausted

We are just worn out and overwhelmed this week, as I knew we would be. Monday started off with me having to report for jury duty (not a good week since Amy, who does my same job, was on vacation this week!). After sitting there for 3 hours, I was dismissed. So off to work I went.
Tuesday...I actually worked a full day, shocker for this week. Steve had to work late and then get our deck layed out on the new house so they could pour the concrete for the patio Wednesday morning. So I took Presley to gymnastics. It was terrible. It was hot, she didn't do anything but stretch (when I was sitting on the floor next to her. Sitting on the floor is not my favorite thing to do these days). I told her that if she wasn't going to participate that we were leaving. I eventually carried her out (both of us sweating our tails off) and headed to the car. She was screaming and kicking like I was kidnapping her. She finally agreed that if we went back she would participate. She didn't. Normally, they get their hands stamped after class.....well, sorry kid! You didn't do ANYTHING, you don't get stamps! SO once again at 30 weeks pregnant, I carried a 37 pound kid kicking, crying and screaming at me...2 blocks to our car. I got in the car, called Steve and broke down. Steve got the phone call with me crying and Presley screaming in the background. He had a long, hard day and I know that was the last thing he needed. And then the next 2 hours with Presley were just as bad, she fought me on everything...EVERYTHING! I was done with her.

Wednesday would be better right? Jury duty again, 3 hours of sitting there and then got dismissed again. Work piling up at my desk so I worked until about 7:15 and then remembered I needed to start fasting at 8 pm for my glucose test the next morning! So I headed home, ate real quick and hoped for the best in the morning!

Today, I had my glucose test. I had a sore throat and headache all week but tried to put it off b/c I really didn't have a choice to be sick and then the nurse tells me that the sugar water I have to drink will probably make me feel sick. Great, please, bring it on. After the second hour and blood test I was able to leave, no gestational diabetes for me! Woohoo! However, then I needed to go back to work. The files and emails stacking up, out of control. Normally, I think I have a good ability to multi-task but everything was just NOT working in my favor this week. Steve had to work late tonight since I did last night and then we both get to work this weekend again!

I feel sorry for Presley during all this work, but I guess she gets a little one on one time with each of us which is good to have before Baby G comes. I keep hoping things will calm down for a while, but then I remember we'll probably be moving in the next month and then we are having another baby! There is no calm in my future. :)

On the up side, I finished 2 books with all my jury duty and glucose test time! Recommended to me by Amy (who has become a reading addict also!), Weekends Required and Not Planning on You....both good! Boy meets girl, falls in love and the sex is out of control! LOL!

80 degrees and perfect!

- We started this weekend off with Steve going to work Saturday morning and then we took a family trip to the mall. I haven't been to the mall in a long time! It is better that way, considering I spent $60 on myself! Presley is getting much better about walking instead of being carried, especially with me!
Then 12 of us went to the Olive Garden for Samantha's birthday dinner and then the Iowa Cubs game afterwards. Great family time, good conversations and everyone seemed to get along!
This morning I went into work, to try to get ahead since I got called for jury duty tomorrow! We did our normal grocery shopping then lunch. Steve wasn't feeling all that great so Presley and I got ready and went to the pool! I will say, I love this 80 degree weather but the pool feels so much more refreshing when it is 100 degrees out! LOL!  After the pool, we had popsicles and then painted her nails pink and purple. I wish we would've enjoyed today's weather a little more but hopefully there will be more 80 degree days to come!

- I've read 3 books in the last 2 weeks! The Kindle was the awakening of my love for reading!
Slammed - A good, easy reading kind of teenagery story line. Teenage love, full of emotion, but I really liked it, I don't seem to like those real books..you know the ones that teach you to be a better person, or help you find your inner peace. Maybe someday I'll go down that path.
A Chance of Fate - A previous coworker of mine wrote this book! It's with werewolves, kinda like Twilight but a little more riskay (and no vampires)! For her first book, she did a pretty good job and I'm so happy that she was able to fulfill her dream of writing and publishing a book!
Dear Daughter - This was written by one of the authors of a blog that I read. I love her! She also wrote "It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita", which was the PERFECT book to read after I had Presley! This book was filled with letters that she wrote to her daughter every month for the first 5 yrs of her life. It was funny, inspirational and makes me love being a mom a little more! :)

- We tried to have a 'pooping' intervention last week, refusing to give her a diaper. She hadn't gone since Tuesday afternoon and by Thursday she insisted on a diaper, sorry, too bad, sit on the potty. We had crying, screaming, pouting but we didn't give in. She sat on the potty with very little effort in trying and eventually we put her back in her underwear to go to bed b/c I knew if we put a diaper or pull-up on her she would take advantage of it! We changed her into a diaper once we went to bed (so she wasn't even aware of it) and she actually got up in the middle of the night to go potty, took her dry diaper off and put underwear back on for the remainder of the night and woke up dry!
However, that didn't fix our pooping problem. My mom did a great job of not giving in to her either. She could've offered Presley the entire world and she still would've refused to go on the toilet, she had a couple crying tries on the potty but still nothing.
Finally, Friday night after more crying, screaming and begging her to try......she still didn't. I got online to look up any good advice and basically if the kid isn't ready, she isn't ready. Plus we didn't want her to get 'too backed up' b/c we were afraid it would hurt when she eventually did go and then she would continue to be afraid! So the diaper won. We did set up new rules though, she has to TRY on the potty before getting a diaper (and really try, I want to see her actually try to push!) and there is no more hiding in the closet or behind her door to go, everything is contained to the bathroom. We changed her diaper in the bathroom and we even flushed it down the toilet when she was done...I know, I know....TMI? Desperation? People, desperate times calls for desperate measures!

- So wish us luck this week....Steve is working late 3 nights b/c both of his jobs need to be done before school starts and I have to get in 10 hours of overtime (depending on this whole jury duty thing!) and we are starting Presley back up in gymnastics since we took her out for the month of July plus I have my 3 hour glucose test on Thursday and of course, my work is wanting the next 3 weekends from us! UGH! Teamwork and compromise is going to the name of the game this week!

House update

We are moving right along and I only hope it continues that way for the next 4-6 weeks!
Here is the entry way into the living room...framed...
 and now drywalled!
the future dining and kitchen area....framed....
and drywalled! Trim and doors will be going up next week and then they are ready to paint!
 We have a driveway!
and the back of our home. We'll have a nice, open backyard which is one of the reason we liked this area so much! We aren't too close to any of the other houses and there are trees, where a lot of new developments have no grown trees.
We finally met the people who live behind us (the ones with the pool!) and the kids in the neighbor are multiplying by the minute! We'll have two, our neighbor will have four (she is due the day after me with her fourth!) and the people who just moved in next to them have 3 boys! Hopefully Presley will be nice and make some friends!

Five Question Friday

1. What is a must in a hotel room? I'm not super picky and have never really had a bad experience in a hotel but usually if we are traveling (and with Presley) an attached restaurant (or one within walking distance) and a continental breakfast! I love having that convenience without having to pack up a kid to find a place to eat.

2. Which Olympic event would you be best at? Do they have an Olympic event for eating? And if not, why not?? I don't think I would be great at anything. I used to take gymnastics when I was little but I'm not sure that counts towards anything at 33 years old! I would like to be good at volleyball, I like to play but not competitively!

3. What's your stance on the Chick-fil-A subject? I don't really know the whole story or really care. I think it has something to do with free speech, having your own opinion and not liking gays...I agree with 2 out of the three. I don't like narrow-minded people.
4. One thing you said you'd never do as a parent, but totally have. Holy cow! Where do I start? The one thing that stands out is sleeping with my baby. I thought people were totally crazy to sleep with their babies...however, after months of sleepless nights we totally brought her into bed with us. I'm a light sleeper so I didn't fear rolling over onto her or anything, but at 5:00 am with a quick bottle and her falling back sleep next to me. I'll take it!

5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever found at a yard sale? Well, first of all I wouldn't BUY something weird at a yard sale! But I have seen some odd items...... this year we did see a leg lamp....you know, from A Christmas Story! Steve wanted it so bad but not even the bargain price of $75 was going to convenience me that we needed it! And a couple years ago I ran across a sale that had lotions, bubble baths and other bathroom products. Some of them partially used!

Spirit Lake 2012

We got to Spirit Lake Saturday afternoon, in between rain storms. After the drought we have been having, we didn't think we'd have to worry about rain..and after four days of rain in Texas we really didn't want more! However, rain on the first day was the best option! They caught a couple fish (August is not the best fishing time, just ask Grandpa Jerry).
and we still got a great sunset!

Monday was cloudy but still nice. Presley and I hung out on the beach off and on all day, the others didn't bother since they couldn't get tan! But we did a lot of the normal sitting around, talking, drinking, playing games.
Grandpa Jerry and Steve
Presley and Ava got along pretty good. Presley likes to boss her around and since Ava is the youngest of three she is used to getting bossed around! Everyone wanted them to hold hands in this picture, you can see how happy Presley was about that.

Presley also became an off and on shadow of cousin Devin. As Steve said, Presley is like the movie 50 First Dates...every day she needs reminded of who you are and if she likes you. Thank you Devin for being such a trooper with P!
Monday we headed to the Barefoot Bar for a short time, it was hot and there was no wind. Some of the kids and (Steve) took adavantage of the waterslide.
So Monday and Tuesday we did a lot of beach time which meant me and Presley on the beach, her playing (making me a sand birthday cake, with a leaf as the candle and singing me happy birthday) and me reading. Anytime she had to go potty or wanted a drink or snack, she just walked back to the cabin and had Steve help her. It was perfect and nice for all of us!

Ella and Ava

Ava and Presley

All the kids...notice Presley off to the left. She screamed and cried for me the whole time. Nice huh? We were missing cousin Zac but this takes the place of the picture we had of all of them from 3 years ago!

and a silly picture...notice Ella tebowing! LOL!

We had to cut our week short b/c Steve couldn't get the whole week off. Boo. Presley was overall much better than she was in Texas. She played good, went to bed fairly good and slept late! She did grace us with an hour of crying on the way home b/c her back hurt, her car seat was too tight, she was hot, she had to poop, she had to go potty, she didn't want me singing....we were happy to get home!
I decided to stay home today from work and then decided to save my PTO days and go back to work on Thursday and Friday. Presley slept in late again, we are going to enjoy 9 am for as long as we can! And then I decided to take her to Barnes and Noble to get a couple new books...she enjoyed playing with the train set while I looked around and the one book she found that she wanted to buy...a Tangled coloring book! Not quite what I had in mind! LOL!
Then we ran to the store and got some things....to make a real cake! Since she kept making me sands cakes on the beach...she said 'I wish I could make mommy a real cake'. So we did! In my mind, it's a cake for our half-birthdays, mine tomorrow and P's on Friday!
After baking our cake and eating lunch we headed to the pool, why not spend some more time in the sun in the water! LOL! We had a good time, she wore her life jacket and did some 'swimming' by herself! It was a great mommy/daughter day!
