Five Question Friday

1. What do you give teachers for gifts? Good question! This is the first year I've really had to think about this! We are just doing a small gift bag that has the Bath and Body Works holiday foam hand soap and then P and I are going to make puppy chow and give them a small bag of that too. Does that sound alright?!

2. Do you text? One finger texter or total pro? Of course I text! I'm not a total pro but I can hold my own when it comes to texting!

3. Do you give back during the holidays? I always want to, but I'm not very good at following thru. When I do it is minimal (taking a friend out to dinner, putting money in the red kettles at the stores). I do want to do more, especially as the kids get older to show them the true meaning of the holiday season!

4. If you would've been the sole winner of the 575+ million dollar Powerball jackpot, what would you have done with all that money? I've gone over this and I would so badly want to help many of my family and friends! And there are a couple charities that would see a pretty penny from me too! and I would want to travel as a family! Hire a nanny and we are gone! Really this list is never ending....so many options!

5. Will you please take just a moment to spread the word and pray about my friend's missing family members? There still is no news, and I can't imagine their pain and worry. Facebook prayer page: Prayers for Trista, Shy and Matt

.............I don't know these people but looked up the story, very sad! So I will help to spread the word!

Getting to know you

What is your dream job? Either a food, movie or television critic....those are all things I love so why wouldn't I want to get paid for this?!

Who is there in your life that you would take a bullet for? Well, the obvious answer is my children! I see stories on the new about missing or murdered kids and I can't even fathom what these parents go through!

Under what circumstances would you adopt a child?  If I had the money, time and patience. I have absolutely no objection to adoption. In fact, my dad and his twin brother were both adopted!

What charity are you willing to support? First and foremost, Cystic Fibrosis. There are so many other causes that I love but this is my main focus when it comes to charities!

What was the first thing you learned to cook? There isn't a whole lot of cooking going on with this girl, so I have no idea! I'm sure this question isn't supposed to include microwave cooking either!

What book can you read over and over again? It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita...LOVE this book! Great for mothers, who don't think motherhood is all fun and games! :)

What was the first concert you went to see? New Kids on the Block! DUH!

Who is someone from your past that you are sorry you lost track of? I lost track of my college roommate from my sophomore year. She was an exchange student from Japan..Junko was her name. I was pissed off when I learned she was my roommate and even tried to get reassigned to a different room! But as it turned out she was the best roommate I could've asked for! She was so sweet, nice and it was a really good experience!

If you could see 24 hours into the future what would you do with this ability? Honestly, I would love to see what kind of mood Presley would be in! It would help give me time to prepare for what is to come! LOL!

What was your first paying job? Besides babysitting? I worked at Target from when I was 16 to 21 years old!

Reading is more fun if there are pictures!

Still no luck with the whole picture downloading thing (though it will let me copy and paste from Facebook?)! FRUSTRATING!

I guess I will just move on minus the pictures! The nice, long weekend was pretty good to us (even though being on maternity leave it seems like I always have long weekends!). Wednesday was so nice out, I was so happy with the neighbor kids came over to ask P if she wanted to play! I had to go with her for most of it but she was so happy and played so good with them! The boy next door who is about 6 years old has 3 younger sisters so he is so good with her, he makes sure she is included and always gives her a turn with whatever they are playing!
I was able to meet some friends for drinks Wednesday night, it was so nice to get out and catch up with them! It had been too long and I wasn't out too late which was nice so I could get home and help with bedtime!

Thursday we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving! It was a lot of fun, lots of laughs, played some four square, ate way too much good, yummy food! (Thanks mom!) and all the kids were pretty good! Presley loved the cranberry! She called it jelly, even though she doesn't like jelly normally but for some reason this canned cranberry she couldn't get enough of!

Friday we put up our Christmas tree and decorations, Presley was a big help (pictures to come). I love the holiday season and it seems that P is excited about it this year too! Basically we didn't do much else but hang out. Steve and P did take a trip to Walmart (on Black Friday? Are you serious?) and it wasn't busy at all! By noon on Black Friday, the stores and malls are all back to normal...thank you, Black Thursday?!

Saturday we did some hanging out and got ready to head to Earlham for another Thanksgiving! They do appetizers and we always have a family pool tournament! I was happy that I beat nephew Jordan and almost beat Matt! My pool skills have declined since we don't hang out at bars anymore! :)
We got there and I went with P to find cousin Ava, after 10 minutes they were off and playing. No adults needed and basically we didn't see them most of the night b/c they did so much playing together! It was awesome and just what we always hope for with Presley.

Aren't they cute!

Since we were up too late on Saturday night in Earlham, Steve and Presley slept in Sunday morning (9:30 for them, lucky)! Then we got up and ready to take P to Disney on Ice. Piper went to Grandmas and we hit up Buzzard Billys for lunch before the show. Even during lunch we could tell that P was still tired, she was moody! So we enjoyed the first half of the show. During the intermissions she took her shoes off, then she ate cotton candy and she wanted to go wash her hands....but didn't want to put her shoes back on. BREAKDOWN! She cried off and on for about 15 during the 2nd half of the show, good thing it was loud and there were plenty of other kids getting restless around us too! The show was really good, I wish they would've made the princess part longer and did less with Mulan and Pinocchio (b/c what kids have seen those movies?) So after another melt down b/c she didn't want to put her coat on (umm...it is 30 degrees out, this is not negotiable at this point) we picked up Piper and headed home....oh yeah, after we had wrestle her back into the car when we left grandmas. People in the neighborhood probably thought a child was getting abused in that car with the amount of screaming, crying and yelling going on! Heck even her shoes were kicked off during the situation!

She was much better once we got home and got settled down. She went to bed early and on a side note.....she is 100% potty trained now! #1 and #2 are mastered and she has been dry in the mornings! Woohoo!

Today has been relaxing. I dropped P off at Aprils house about 9 (I was up at 6:45 but didn't wake P up until about 7:45, that way she can eat breakfast here and we aren't in any real hurry...boy that will change once I go back to work...NOT looking forward to that!) and then my mom and godmother Cindy came over! Normally, I run to Target, clean, do laundry and honestly I haven't done any of that today! Maybe I should...........

Thankful for 2012

So I haven't blogged about this wonderful long weekend, b/c now my blog says that I'm out of memory to load more pictures on here?! WTH? We've tried to fix it but aren't having any luck....very frustrating! Any who........

I'm not big on doing the 30 days of being thankful thing that everyone is doing on FB, most of it is the same ole stuff we always say every year. Which is great, it is wonderful that everyone takes this time to reflect on how lucky they for the things in their life. I do think this is something that more people need to try to do more often.

So that being said.....we DO have a lot to be thankful for! We have had a busy, crazy, stressful year but we are very blessed by being able to sell our house quickly, having a great family that allowed us to store all of our stuff in their garages, being able to build a house, go on three vacations, watch Presley grow into a wonderful KID, having a healthy baby girl and family and friends who will spoil them both rotten!

P1 vs P2

Presley, a little over 2 months
Piper, almost 2 months

Presley, a little over 2 months old

Piper, a little over a month old

Basically, Presley had some cheeks and on her way to having some fat rolls at 2 months, Piper has 2 weeks to pack on some pounds. I do think they look very similar in some ways! Piper's hair is a little more reddish. We'll see how she changes over the next couple months!

Weekend fun!

Thursday Presley and I took a 'big' girls night out to my friend Lisa's house. They just built a house in Polk City so they are pretty close to us, hopefully we'll be hanging out more! Our friends Mistee and Erin were there too, it was nice to catch up. It has been so long since I've seen them! Presley was very good and just played! Thanks Lisa for having us over!

Friday we took a family trip to Costco, Kirklands and then out to dinner. Of course, both kids fell asleep on the way there....we sat in the parking lot of Costco wondering if we should just drive around a little longer or actually go in and hope we didn't have crabby kid. They were great, both of them! And we got some shopping done, we've been looking for things for the house and I think we are on our way to actually getting it decorated but we still have a ways to go.

Saturday Steve and Presley hung out alot, played outside and ran some errands while Piper and I hung out at home. Since it was so nice outside he actually got the xmas lights on the house! and Sunday we had the family over for the Packer game, it was a close one but they pulled off another win!  My mom bought Piper a Packer onesie so she was able to dress in her green and gold (even though the 0-3 month onesie is still too big for my 0-3 month old baby!). I really wanted a picture of us in our Packer gear but didn't think about it, maybe this weekend!

We were all exhausted by Sunday night, we tried to put Presley to bed early... She stalled over and over again, pooped twice in the potty, read 250 books, and then I asked her if she wanted to turn off the light and have me lay with her for a couple minutes or leave the light on and read for a little while...she said she wanted me to lay in bed with her. So I did, a couple minutes later she sits up and sighs....
P - "Mommy, I picked it but I don't know why I picked it"
Me - "Picked what?"
P - "For you to lay with me'
Me - " So you want me to leave?" She nods, geez...thanks kid!

2 hours later she was still awake (in bed, but awake), she called for me again (I was asleep in bed at this point) I went in her room and said it was time to close her eyes and go to sleep. She said "No, I don't want to close my eyes" I told her that was fine she just needed to lay in bed and be quiet. She again told me that was she was going to keep her eyes open. Fine, just fine...go ahead and keep trying that P. Good luck!

This and That

- So about the time we decided on Pipers name (about a week before we had her)...we learned there is another Piper in the neighborhood......with the same LAST name! NO JOKE!!!! She is 8 years old so it didn't really bother us.  As you know Presley went as Dorothy for Halloween...so did the other Piper! IRONIC!!!

- Also our neighbor was due to have a baby the end of October also, when she heard we named our baby Piper she told Steve that was one of the names they were going to use! Two of the names on their list....Presley and Piper...NO JOKE!!! Turns out they did not use either name! :)

- Technically my paid short term disability ends this coming Tuesday. I have 5 days of PTO to take after that and then however long I decide to stay at home after that is all unpaid. Right now my tentative return date to work is the 17th. I would love to take another week off but we'll have to see how our savings account looks after Christmas and no pay check for 2.5 weeks.

- Pooping.....so there is a little light at the end of this tunnel for us. After P going in her underwear the only way we could see getting around that was to sleep with her....to stop her before she started. We gave her Miralax for two days, finally on day 3 we had success (after multiple attempts to get a diaper and crying). Then two more days went by and on day 6....more success! She is still reluctant and hesitant but hopefully she can keep this up. Tonight is day 9 and since she seems to be on a 3 day cycle (LOL) maybe tonight will be easier than the first two and she'll be more willing! She is getting 'rewards' and she has been SO proud of herself! I just hope it continues!

- Preschool...we had P's conferences on Thursday.  We were looking forward to seeing what the teachers had to say about her. We knew the 'social' aspect would be what she needed to work on but the teachers were happy with her progress over the last couple months and she is SO much better when I drop her off now. Rarely any tears! And recently they have heard her voice! She actually talked...out loud! There are a couple girls she talks about playing with and the teachers are very good at encouraging her in all aspects to help her feel more comfortable.  She is right on track with the things she is supposed to know at this point (letters, numbers, colors, shapes) so that is good...the one thing she had problems with scissors. We've never had scissors in the house so she had no idea how to even hold them! HA! They said she follows direction and has a kind attitude?! What? Really?

Fell asleep reading her Bible :)
Loving this neighborhood, the kids flock together to play and the yards are so open they can roam from swing set to swing set! HA! This is part of the view from our future deck...this is 2 of the 4 swing sets you can see from our backyard!

Five Question Friday

1. Is love at 1st sight possible? Yes, I do think it is.....you know, like when I see a jelly filled donut with chocolate frosting...that is true love at first sight!

2. How did you choose your pet's name? We don't have any pets but I would think we would be more creative than naming a cat, Fluffy.

3. What are you considering giving up (cable, home phone)? I don't really understand this question...why do I need to give up anything? I haven't had a home phone since I moved out of my parents house and I was proud that we gave up cable for the 5 months we were in our apartment!

4. How much do you pay your babysitter? This is a hard question b/c I don't know the 'right' amount to pay. I don't want to be cheap! We've only had one real 'babysitter' other than grandma and I hope she doesn't think we are cheap!

5. How "young" is old enough to babysit? I think it depends on the babysitter (are they responsible? smart? reliable?) and the type of kid (how old are they, how long will the parents be gone) they are going to be watching. I think usually around 13 years old.

Our Baby Girls

We are so thankful to have such wonderful, healthy, happy, beautiful daughters! They make my heart melt, smile and break all at the same time! LOVE them!

This and That

So last Wednesday when I went to pick up P from preschool and Piper just wasn't 'right'. When I took her out of the car her face turned bright red, her eyes were blood shots and she had actual tears in her eyes...it was almost as if she couldn't breathe! Finally, some of her formula came out of her nose (but she hadn't eaten in 3 hours) and she started crying! So weird, freaked me out. I gave her a bottle and she spit up most of it....didn't really think twice about it until about 2 when it was time for her next bottle. The first ounce came up, I gave her two more ounces....all that came up too?! So I called the doctor and they wanted me to bring her in since she was so little and she really hadn't kept anything down since 7 am. So we went, which is why I know that she weighs 6 lbs, 15 ozs...basically the doctor said it could be acid reflux, there didn't appear to be anything 'wrong' with her and we should just try to water down her bottle and burp her after every ounce to see if that helped....and you know what? She had spit up like that since. It's almost as if that day was just a fluke, so she is back to sleeping in the bouncy seat next to my bed until I feel comfortable putting her back in her crib at night!

Last Thursday Presley had her dentist appointment. I had taken her back in February but all they did was show her their tools and count her teeth to make her feel comfortable before really getting into the teeth cleaning. She was surprising cooperative! This time....a different story. She wouldn't open her mouth, she wouldn't sit in the chair....nothing. We tried holding her down but that just broke my heart and I didn't want to scare her even more...so we'll try again in 6 months and hopefully it will turn out better.

I have been shocked at the amount of presents that Presley has rec'd for being a big sister. I love how nice and thoughtful everyone has been! A coworker of mine (I won't mention her name b/c she wouldn't like it) sent Presley a card in the mail and before I could read the whole thing, I had tears in my eyes! Here is what it said:
Presley,
Sure hope you are enjoying your new baby sister, Piper. You may not know it now, but someday this little baby girl will become your best friend. She will come to you for advice about school and boys (yuck!). What an honor it is to be the "BIG" sister, you will be great!
P.S. Go easy on your mom and dad, this is a new job for them too.

Presley is obsessed with winning. She always wants to race, if we play games she gets SO excited if she wins and doesn't really want to play if she is going to lose. She races to see who can get buckled in the car first or who can finish their dinner first. I know part of this is our fault, I think all parents try some of these 'strategies' to get their kids to do things (like counting how long it takes to do something, or see who can pick up toys the fastest). I keep telling her that she doesn't always get to win and that eating dinner is NOT A RACE! :)
She took this 'winning' to a different level the other night when we were reading her Bible. You know the story of Cain and Abel? Where Cain kills Abel...well here is the picture that is in her Bible.
And you know what she says? She points to Cain and says 'He's winning' and then points to Abel and says 'He's not winning'. Goodness!!!!! I nicely explained that Cain was being mean and God doesn't like it when we are mean to people, we are supposed to be nice and help people! Oh this kid! She cracks me up and makes me worry! LOL!

Random blah blah

I had my 4 week check up with my doctor, 5 more pounds to go until I hit what I weighed at my first doctors appt in March....too bad that is 15 pounds to my goal weight! Oh well, 2013 is a new year and I'll worry about it then.

I had two rough days with the girlies this week. I try so hard to remain calm and not yell or be impatient but Presley pushes my buttons on purpose. Steve is so understanding when he knows that I'm ready to freak out. I called him Thursday in the middle of my breakdown and apologized right away saying that I was sorry I was going to yell and freak out but not to take it personally.
My mom is so understanding and thoughtful in letting me bring Presley over on Tuesdays or watching one or both of them when I have appointments or when P and I just need some 'big' girl time together.

On Wednesday last week we got home from preschool about noon, ate lunch, and then she did two crafty coloring things to keep her busy. Just after that she wanted, needed something to do RIGHT AWAY. I have been telling her that we are going to make puppy chow one of these days if she is good...and every day she is bad and I refuse to make it. When I told her that we would make puppy chow after Pipers bottle when she was asleep, that was not soon enough for her! She is like Varuka Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....you know the girl who wants a golden goose?
So Friday after preschool we had lunch and then we made fruit loop necklaces....which took her awhile between trying to get the string in the hole and watching cartoons, but it kept her occupied! Now, what other limited crafty things can we do? Pinterest here I come!

She looks so sweet doesn't she? Looks can be SO deceiving! :) God, I love this girl!

One Month

Oh my sweet Piper! At one month old we can already tell that you are a little more laid back than your big sister....which we appreciate and hope it continues as you get older.
I want to apologize for anything and everything Presley does to hurt you...whether that is now or later, physical or emotional. She loves you very much but I think some of that love comes out so intensely that she doesn't know how to control it. You eventually will get back at her and I can't say that she doesn't deserve it.
You have gained about a pound and are 6 pounds, 15 ounces. You eat about 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. Your sleeping habits have progressively gotten worse over the last week, where you were doing so good eating around 3 and 8 am.....that is has changed to you waking up about 2 and 5....which I'm not liking all that much.
You haven't found your hands yet, and you have extremely long arms that you just can't control so you end up scratching yourself all the time!
We hold you way too much, but you sleep so good in our arms and I have limited time to hold you. Maternity leave and time in general goes too fast and before we know it, you won't want to be held at all! :( So I want to enjoy it while we still can!
Both grandma and daddy say that you have smiled at them....I haven't seen it and I'm with you 90% of the time?! So I think they might be dreaming! ;)
Presley lost most of her hair when she was about a month old...and from this looks of this picture it appears you are following in her footsteps!
We love you sweet girl!

Five Question Friday

Is it a little ironic that I haven't done a Five Question Friday in a while and the week I start again is about having a baby!

1. If you had c-section do you wish you would have had vaginal? Or vice versa? Both vaginal, really the only reason I wanted to have a c-section was for the extra paid short term disability pay. I do think that all women would at least want to experience some labor pains and all that fun...but maybe not.
2. If vaginal did you go drug free? Heck no! Why would I do that? Why would anyone do that? I wanted drugs and I wanted them bad! No question about it!
3. Did you have any complications?  Just with Piper when the epidural didn't take to my left side, for what seemed like forever!
4. Who was in the delivery room with you? Just my hubby
5. Did you document your labor and delivery? (Photos, videos, etc.) AGAIN, heck no! Why would I do that? Why would anyone do that?
6. Pick the birth story of one of your children and tell us ALLLLLLLL about it! Well since you just read about Piper 1 month ago, you probably aren't interested in reading that again. SO here is the link to read about Presley....

The house!

The house is coming along...still working on getting pictures up on most of the walls but Pipers room is done and Presley's and our bedroom are about 90% done.
Pipers room, we love the purple!

Presley's pink room, my favorite part are the blue sparkly curtain and circled curtain rod!

And our room, I'm proud to say that I have made the bed every day since we moved in! Not sure how long that will last once I go back to work but it makes me feel like I've accomplished something (it's the small things)!
More pictures to come once the house is clean, picked up and decorated! Or just feel free to stop by and say hi!

Finally!

My husband who can barely send an email fixed our computer so I can download pictures! Yeah! So time to back up a little.

We did make a quick trip to the small pumpkin patch near us, we didn't do the big pumpkin patch thing this year since we had Piper but next year should be more fun with both kids!
We got some cute pictures with Presley and her and Steve went on a hayrack ride! She was afraid to get on the tractor last year so I was happy that she was willing and excited this time!

Just another day in paradise

So on my maternity leave the goal is to take Presley to April's house on Mondays and grandma's house on Tuesdays. This way she can still have some 'schedule' and still be able to play with other kids and not get TOO tired of me (though I'm not sure that is working out). Wednesdays and Fridays we get up and go to preschool then have the afternoon's together. Thursdays are the day that I think I'm going to take Piper to grandmas and have just Presley and mommy day...I really think she needs it.

She doesn't act outwardly jealous of Piper but you can tell in the way she has been acting over the last couple weeks that she is NOT happy about this whole thing. She is mean and stubborn, she hits and kicks and we don't know what to do. As I mentioned we have been taking away her 'treats', we've tried time outs but she WILL NOT stay in her room, she runs right back out no matter how many times we put her in there (so we have resorted to holding the door closed!). Just this morning it took over 1/2 hour to get her to brush her hair and teeth. She wanted to keep watching TV, so I took her blanket away. ANGER EXPLOSION! She came running at me, hitting, screaming b/c she wanted her blanket back. She then got a time out in her room b/c she was hitting me. I finally told her in order for her to get her blanket back she needed to apologize for hitting and she needed to brush her hair and teeth. I got the apology.......however, 30 minutes later I was still waiting for her to stop rolling around on the floor screaming at me. I'm sure Super Nanny would be appalled at the things we are doing. And a part of me thinks once I go back to work she will start to act better when we have a consist, normal schedule....maybe not. My mom thinks we are asking to be on Dr. Phil with her as a teenager! LOL!

Bedtime has been getting better but it still takes too long for our liking. We'll take what we can get at this point.
The pooping is our major struggle (besides her fits of rage), she did end up pooping in her underwear last night. Not cool. And she had the nerve to ask if she gets her ice cream since she didn't go in her diaper? NO! You shit in your pants, are you kidding me?? I got some good advice from friends that we'll be trying this week, we'll see how that goes.

Irritation overload

So of course we have internet now and I can't get any pictures to download....this whole long process of freaking getting internet is out of control!

I spent 20 minutes listening to Piper cry and scream on the way home from WDSM to our house and and Presley mad b/c she couldn't hear 'her song' on the radio b/c Piper was crying. FUN!

Now we are fighting, struggling, crying (by her and me), screaming and trying to rationalize with Presley to go poop on the potty. We have to stick to our guns and make her use the potty. She was always getting diapers at bedtime and would go then, well now she is wearing underwear to bed (and has been dry in the mornings all week!) and the diapers are gone (minus the 2 hiding in the diaper bag for emergency situations). This is day 4 of her not going poop and she is struggling! She wants to go so badly and is fighting us to the edge of my sanity. I really think given the chance she will go in her underwear.

Getting to Know Me - ABCs

I started this before I had Piper and am just now getting to finish it......and some of the questions I'm just skipping b/c I find them weird or have no good answer!

A- Accent you wish you had - I would have to say either English or Australian

B- Baking or Cooking? For sure baking! I don't do it nearly enough b/c I don't need that food around this house!

C- Can't Get Enough.....Junior Mints. I've had previous love affairs with York Peppermint Patties and mint chocolate chip ice cream but right now I'm enjoying Junior Mints

D- Drink you can't go without - Diet Mountain Dew, I have one every day and did most of my pregnancy too!

E-Emotion you get when those Hallmark commercials come on  - what Hallmark commercials?

F-Fictional Character you relate to -

G-Guilty Pleasure - Keeping up with the Kardashians, I love this show! There are worse shows I could watch, like 16 and Pregnant or The Bachelor! :)

H- Hometown - Des Moines, IA...obviously I haven't traveled far from home! And that is fine by me!

I- Ice Cream Flavor (see letter C)

J- Jumpstart Go To (aka how you get your day started) - I got nothing, I pretty much don't like mornings and even my Diet Mountain Dew doesn't really wake me up.

K- Keepsake Item - I would say the vases and jewelry my mom gave me when Presley and Piper were born. The vases were given to my mom when she had me and she kept them all these years!

L- Life Verse(s) -

M-Memory that makes you smile - I have experienced the same story with Holly and Steve.....green toothpaste...that's all. Heehawed!

N- Non-fiction writer you want to have dinner with -

O- Opulent Item You Want (something that is way out of your price range) - where do I start?

P-Pattern You Love - what kind of question is this?

Q- Quirk You Have -

R- Relaxing Spot - somewhere comfortable in the sun, reading.  I guess now I should use my whirlpool tub to relax!

S- Snow or Sun? - SUN please!!!

T- TV show you miss - Any of the good ole 80's, 90's shows. I love watching reruns of them on TV! If they ever cancel Parenthood I will be very sad!

U- Unique Fact About You - I have never smoked ANYTHING in my life!

V- Valentine's Day ...big deal or not? NO! I would rather Steve send me flowers on a completely different day than when everyone else is getting stuff....not that he sends me anything on any day but if he were going go, it better not be Valentines Day!

W- What's Your Love Language? HUH?

X- X-Factor Song You Would Sing (sidenote: I don't watch the show...)

Y- Yoga or Not? I would love to try yoga, and I think even trying hot yoga would be a good experience at least once!

Z- Zealous Dream You Have -

Halloween

Monday night we got our pumpkins carved, we didn't do anything fancy like we normally do and Presley wouldn't put her hand in the pumpkin to help take out the grossy stuff (as she would say).
She did color on the two pumpkins for her and Piper though.

and of course we used Steve's tools to carve pumpkins b/c that is alot easier than using a little knife.
This is the night she found my bachelorette party crown and veil. Steve did the hawkeye pumpkin and I did your basic pumpkin face.
Our little Dorothy and cowardly lion (for the second year).
Both P and B were able to wear their same costumes from last year! Perfect for us! We practiced over and over with Presley so that she was prepared to say Trick or Treat and thank you when she got candy. But when it came down to actually going up to strangers houses and having to talk to them....wasn't going to happen. She refused. Thank goodness Boston cooperated so we didn't have two mute kids! The only thing P would do is smile. Oh well, maybe next year.
Presley has already been in trouble and had her Halloween candy taken away...and she doesn't even care. She has never even asked about it since that night, isn't that sad? Are we mean parents? She only got one piece of her bucket of candy and then we took it away and hid it from her (as punishment for something), so now after she goes to bed I raid her bucket and eat it myself. I guess this is a win for me!

Guess who has internet???

And guess who is going to have to sit thru blog after blog, picture after picture of my little life? YOU! Well, unless you decide that I'm really boring and decide to not read this and I guess that is your choice, meanie!
In no particular order and completely randomness, I'm sorry for the next couple blogs of stuff!
