My first beer

That's right I had my first beer Saturday night! Besides a couple non-alcoholic beers, I haven't had a beer since June 12th, the day I found out I was prego. My sister was nice enough to watch Presley for a couple hours while we went out for a friends birthday. It was good to get out of the house and feel like a normal person again. I think Steve was more worried about leaving her than I was. That doesn't make me a bad mom does it? :)

More pics!

Steve looking like a pro...what a proud daddy!

Presley Grace

Screaming! She is very good at crying like this when she is not happy!

Sleep? Where are you?

Presley is 2 weeks old now and she is spoiled. She likes to be held when she sleeps which makes is hard to get anything done and hard for me to sleep. We had her first dr's appt and she's already gained the weight that she lost in the hospital! When we left she was 5 lbs 7 oz and at her appt she was 5 lbs 13 oz....we think she's hit 6 lbs now. She lost her belly button last weekend and we made our first trip to the mall to find some smaller clothes for her to wear.

We also had our first blow out. At 4:30 in the morning I woke Steve up b/c I knew I wouldn't be able to change her without getting poop all over the place. It was all over her onesie and we couldn't figure out how to get the onesie over her head without getting her dirty! So we decided to cut it off of her! That's right, we got the scissors out! It was much easier that way.

Her eyes were a dark blue and I think they are slowing turning brown like Steve's. I was hoping for green eyes like me and my mom. She hates being naked and hates baths even more. It seems like pure torture to her, so she gets the quickest baths we can handle.

I've been doing okay, getting used to about 4 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes I get a nap in at night when Steve watches her or if I go to my mom's during the day. I'm slowly getting an appetite back, but still not eating as much as I should. I'm pretty happy that I'm back in my regular jeans and last time I checked I only had 5 more pounds to lose! :)

We are working on getting her to sleep in her crib and need to get her on a schedule before I go back to work so she is good for grandma! Time is already going too fast!

My 30th Birthday

I was not excited about turning 30, not b/c of the number but b/c I was 9 months pregnant. I couldn't have a drink, couldn't sleep thru the night, and couldn't walk more than a couple blocks without waddling.

I took Monday February 2nd off from work. The Super Bowl was Sunday night and we were at Brocks house later than I would've like to have been playing Rock Band. I woke up at 4 am with bad back pain, which wasn't too out of the ordinary. I went to my mom's that morning and then met Cindy for lunch and pedicures. During this time I was having contractions but I tried to dismiss them and didn't mention them to anyone....I wasn't due for 2 weeks and I knew that I wouldn't have her early! hahaha

I went home and started cleaning, guess that nesting finally hit. When Steve got home from work I told him I thought I was having contractions, he casually dismissed it thinking they were Braxton Hicks. I had a very normal, boring pregnancy so I was kinda getting nervous about these pains!....Steve went and got us Perkins for dinner, yeah I know...typical 30th birthday dinner huh? The contractions came and went with no regularity.

I woke up at 2 am in pain. I went to the couch and starting timing the contractions and they hurt like hell. They started at 8 minutes apart and would get be as close as 5 minutes. Finally at 3:30 I woke Steve up. If I was going to be in this much pain, he could at least be up with me. I was in tears the pain was so intense. We debated on what to do....do we wait and see what the contractions do? do we go to the hospital and hope they don't send us home?...I wanted to shower and clean....but there wasn't time. I could hardly stand when a contraction hit.

wow this is getting long.....so at 5:30 we checked into the hospital and I was 1/2 centimeter dialated...1/2 centimeter!!!??? I got into the whirlpool tub in hopes to relax me and get me to dialate further. I was in there till 7:30 and was finally 2 centimeters. At 8:00 they broke my water and at 9 heaven had arrived......I got my epidural!

The day went slow, dialating about 1 centimeter an hour. My family got to the hospital about 10:30, even though we told them we could be there all day. They gave me sugar water to get the baby moving since I hadn't had anything to eat since 6 pm the night before. I was starving and tired. FINALLY....about 6 pm on February 3rd, we started pushing and she was here at 6:23 pm. She was crying and perfect at 5 lbs 12 oz.
I finally got to my recovery room about 8:30 and finally got to see my family. They were so happy and probably tired after spending 10 hours in the waiting room. I was starving but had no appetite and just wanted to sleep....now I realize that sleep is something I might not get for a while!

Anyway there's the story of how little Presley Grace came into our lives!

February 17th

Two years ago today Steve proposed to me!
This year it was the due date for our baby girl, of course she decided to come 2 weeks early.

Blog!!

So I thought I would follow the new blog trend. I thought this might be a good and easy way to keep some of the relatives in the loop, since I'm so bad about sending pictures and updates to everyone! Hopefully, I can keep you in the loop with Presley and how things are going and how she is growing!...along with how Steve and I are doing! :)
