Sneak Peek

We had a friend/prev coworker come take pictures of our family.  I wanted mostly pictures of Piper but knew she would be hard especially once she was naked and awake. She has no control over her (exceptionally) long arms so they were flapping all over, but Presley was super cooperative and quite the little model! We got some good ones and I can't wait to see the rest of them!
Thanks Andrea!

Presley Mania

Presley is loving the new house....so do her dolls! She lines them up in front of the fire place and reads them a book!

I was able to take some pictures of P in gymnastics class this week. She loves it and does so good!
I think the bars are her favorite!
 practicing cartwheels
the vault! Running with her tongue hanging out!

Piper mania

Piper is 2 weeks old now. She is such a good baby. So sweet, sleeps good, only getting up (usually) once a night about 3-3:30am and then she is good until about 8 am.

Presley adjusted right away after we got home from the hospital. She responds right away when Piper starts crying....'I'm coming Miss Piper!'...it's so cute! She loves helping out which helps me out!

So far we are all adjusting very nicely! I have yet to really take a nap....This baby has been a much easier adjustment for us...so far. I realize all that could change in a split second!
I have much more to post but limited time today since I'm stealing my parents internet while Presley is in preschool. Later gators!

Rewind one week

For my dad's 60th birthday we got him a chance to go skydiving! Holly was lucky enough to be able to jump with him too! I thought she would be nervous but really she just seemed very excited!
Holly and Jerry before Holly's jump!

Holly coming down for the perfect landing
Afterwards Holly was so excited and proud!

We have been working hard on getting the house in order (before the baby came) and for the most part we did pretty good. We had planned on getting alot done this coming weekend, but obviously those plans have been moved. Hopefully I can take some pictures of the house and get them posted on here soon.

Yes, I had a baby to get internet access....so?

Well, Wednesday night I woke up about midnight having to pee....like normal. Only it wouldn't stop. Steve always thought it would be funny to see me pee my pants, well here you go hubby! I went back to bed and waiting for the contractions to start. Slowly but surely they did....about 15-20 minutes apart so I didn't think much about it until about 4 am. They were getting closer together and I started to actually think hmm.....I haven't really slept since midnight and I definitely can't go to work in this pain, maybe we should go to the hospital? What are we going to do with P? We don't even have a car seat for this baby in the car yet? We haven't packed a bag! We have so much to get done this weekend! So we got up, got ready, Holly came to stay with Presley (thank you Aunt Holly!). We got to our hospital room about 6:30 am, the pain had really intensified and the contractions were about 5 minutes apart by this time.
I was dilated to 5 and they were prepping our room and talking like we were going to have this baby soon. I had Steve call my mom, he said this was going to happen sooner rather than later. She got the kids off to their 'back up' sitters for the day and headed right down. I FINALLY got my epidural, after pleading, begging and crying. I told Steve I would pay the anetheologist cash, if she would get in our room and give me that epidural! Of course, then the epidural didn't take to my left side! Are you kidding me?
Dilated to 8 and finally, the numbness took over. AHHHH.....HEAVEN! Doctor showed up, I wasn't feeling any pressure (or pain), 9 am I started pushing and by 9:15 she was here! Piper Rebecca, 5 lbs 14 oz, 19 inches long and cried for the first 2 hours. She is doing good now, sleeping a ton and we'll enjoy it while we can! I know it could be short lived (i.e. Presley).

Big sister Presley, who is slightly stand-offish. She doesn't want to hold or touch her. She doesn't want to hug or touch me either.  I think once we get home into our normal surroundings that she will loosen up a bit!

Grandpa Jerry

Grandpa Les (Pa!)

She is so sweet! (for now!)

Thank you to everyone who has been helping us with Presley and Piper over the last 24 hours! Thank you to everyone who has visited, texted, Facebooked and wish us all well! Our daughters are very lucky to be surrounded by all of our awesome friends and family! We love you all!

Revolution

Have you watched Revolution yet? Where the power goes out and they have no ability to use computers, listen to music, drive cars, talk on cell phones? I almost feel that lost without internet at home....almost.
I have so many pictures and updates on things and it's driving me crazy! So expect a large picture dump when I do get up and running!

The only update I'll give at this point about our not-so-boring life is about Baby G. I had my dr's appointment, NST and ultrasound yesterday. Things went good, gained 1 pound, still dilated at 2. This doctor also mentioned not going past 39 weeks which is fine, whatever. I've never been a fan of having to induce labor but they scheduled me for 7:30 next Monday morning (and I better have internet next week for updates and pics of our baby!!). If this is what they think is best for little baby and her tiny stomach (which seems to be their worry) then I guess I can't argue with the experts.
So freak out time for me! Don't get me wrong, I don't like surprises, so you would think that I would like having this all planned out. But KNOWING the date?! KNOWING there is an end and when that actually is....freaks me out! Steve is all excited that we can plan things and know what we need to get done and figure out things for Presley, which I agree that does make things easier....BUT STILL!!!!

And with my luck I'll go early anyway, so I'll be freaked out about this and then it won't matter and then I'll be disappointed that I didn't make it until the 15th, b/c obviously I'm never happy! HA!

Wish me luck to get connected to the internet soon! B/c I'm sure my employer doesn't appreciate the time I'm taking out to do this!

Three quick thoughts before the weekend begins....

Presley is dry in the mornings about 98% of the time! So proud of her! The girl can hold it like a rock star, even though we don't encourgage that normally! I think we are almost ready to cut out the nighttime pull-ups and try just putting her in her underwear at night...of course then she'll start wetting the bed...guaranteed!

My NST went good today, nothing weird. They had to wake her up after 10 minutes but then she was moving and kicking! My guess she wasn't happy with her wake up call! Never wake a sleeping baby, right?

My sister and dad are going skydiving tomorrow morning...wish them luck! :)
Have a good weekend!

Five Question Friday

1. What album/cd/download are you embarrassed to admit you have? Do I have to be embarrassed or proud? Other people will think I'm an idiot, but I can never get enough New Kids on The Block. Yes, I still have all my old tapes and CD's, and I would love to listen to them if I could find a tape player anywhere!

2. What's the one thing your spouse does better than you? Cooks! Duh! He likes to take his time and do things the hard way. 30 Minutes with Rachel Ray is more my type of style (if I were to cook) and he thinks that is taking the easy way out! I will say, as our lives have become busier he does see the benefits of quick meals but he does miss cooking and I'm ready to have him cooking again!

3. When do you start buying Halloween Candy? Is this a trick question...is there a right or wrong time? Is it ever too early? I actually bought some peanuts, candy corn and M&M's to put together as a yummy snack to have around the house. However, now my problem is telling Presley that she can't have candy corn before dinner or right after breakfast. I might need to hide it from her.

4. Family closets - Yay or nay?  As in, is a family closet to share....with everyone's clothes in one closet?  Why would people do that? I'm voting Nay on this one.
Weird question.

5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why? I don't like emptying the dishwasher, mainly b/c my mother hated this chore and made us kids do it growing up so now I hate it. I also don't like sorting thru clean socks and pairing them together! I do it for me and Presley but not for Steve, he doesn't care and if he does...he can do it himself!
Also dusting, I don't like it b/c it doesn't last very long especially with dark wood. One reason I have a love/hate relationship with wood floors..they look great! But man, the dust and hair balls that gather and are SO noticeable drive me crazy. Maybe if I dusted more we wouldn't have this problem?

37.5 weeks

Oh man time is ticking away! I do have an updated pic of my belly that I will post as soon as we have internet. I am definitely bigger, gained almost 2 pounds this week so I'm right at about 20 total pounds. I've been told that I now look pregnant and that I waddle (as much as I try NOT too!). It hurts to walk, feels like my legs want to be disconnected from the rest of my body, guess my hips are trying to adjust which I'm not enjoying.
Doctors appt went good today, had another ultrasound. Baby is about 5 lbs 13 oz at 37.5 weeks (P was 5 lbs, 12 ozs when she was born at 38 weeks...so they are very similar in size). The baby's stomach is measuring small (which makes sense to me since she is small) but they want to do extra tests and monitoring to make sure she is healthy. So now I'm up to two appts a week, so I get to do a NST (non-stress test) on Friday, an ultrasound/NST and dr's appt on Monday and then another NST and dr's appt on Thursday. UGH! Depending on the results of all those tests the doctor said that she probably wouldn't let me go past 39 weeks! Or even look at the end of next week, but I'm refusing to believe that option. Sounds like with the stomach being small they are concerned with issues with umbilical cord and such but they didn't seem too worried about any real issues and are just being cautious. So we will see and I guess we'll be working extra hard this weekend to get the house together ASAP! So now instead of holding out for the 22nd, I'm just hoping for the 15th!

I want to give a shout out to my wonderful husband, who has been working extra hard with everything on this house (like he did from the beginning)! I know he is excited to be in the house and get our life started there! I also know that this is stressful for both of us and he is doing a great job keeping me calm and helping out where he can, he even took control and cleaned the apartment so now we just have to turn in our keys and we are officially done with it!

Connection lost

We have no internet at the new house, something about the amount of service available and they aren't sure how long it will take to get us hooked up. We might have to switch providers to get internet since we now don't live 'in the city'! :)

The move went good (well? Which one mom?!). Everything is in the house/garage/basement. Once we got everything moved (thanks to the FANTASTIC amount of family and friends we had helping!), we got P's bedroom and our bedroom set up so that I could unpack and organize at least those two rooms. So those are pretty much done.  I have no idea where anything else is or where to start unpacking. I can't really lift much so that doesn' help. Yesterday Presley didn't want to leave my side which made it hard to get anything done too. So I just feel overwhelmed and unorganized. Steve says we have plenty of time....I hope he is right.
I need to get out of the mindset that this baby will come early like Presley did. If we have this baby at 38 weeks like P, that would be next Monday....and I don't know about you, but that doesn't seem like a lot of time to get unpacked, organized, set up a baby room, find all the baby stuff we have and get it cleaned and clean out our apartment....plus try to get in 10 hours of overtime. Just saying.

I love our new washing machine! The one at the apartment was tiny. I could wash 4 pairs of jeans in one load and then it took two cycles to dry. This one I can do about 3 times that amount in half the amount of time! Thank you!
I told Steve on Thursday that the house was as clean and perfect as it was ever going to be, from here on out is is all downhill! Finger prints every where, a dent in the new floors....how long will it be before Presley spills something on the carpet?!

So I will post pictures eventually, if we can get internet and if I can find the camera and laptop amongst the chaos.
