Day 5 - Wednesday - Hayward

They planned a hike for Wednesday for anyone who wanted to join and most of us did! It was the perfect day for a hike. Our crowd looked like a herd!
 Uncle David with Piper
At the beginning of the hike you can take some steps up to a lookout tower.....there were SO many steps and this was the view....not much to see, so disappointing to say the least especially after all the steps!
These were just the steps up the tower......
These were part of the steps UP TO the tower...…
and more steps....it was trek and my legs were so tired. I don't know how the little kids did it. Piper ran up all the steps like it was nothing!

Samantha couldn't walk so obviously she didn't go and Scott stayed back with her to help take care of Jordan, but Boston joined the rest of us!
Cameron (almost 11), Presley (almost 9.5), Mary (almost 11)

Boston would not be in a picture, until he could photo bomb others!

 More steps.

This whole area was covered in these rock towers, it was so awesome to see!

More steps. My mom did pretty good for having a bad hip on this 2.5 mile hike!

 The heart log!
This hike was filled of different views of different waterfalls and brooks, it was so neat to see!

Me trying to pose like my kids....not as cute.
On our way out we sat this little chipmunk, carrying a dead one in his mouth!
Many other people headed further north to have lunch overlooking Lake Superior but we decided to take the hour drive back and have lunch closer to home plus there were a couple other spots we wanted to check out also.
