Day 5 - Spirit Lake

Wednesday everyone went back to Barefoot b/c Rod and Diane wanted to go before they had to leave on Thursday. We did more talking, drinking, swimming, shopping.
Ella and her friend Chloe kept Presley and Ava company in the water, playing chase and such.

We left there and headed into Okoboji, The Ritz has kids night starting at 6. We got there early so we could get a table in the shade in front of one of their fans b/c it was HOT. The girls were not in the best moods b/c of the heat but they managed and it ended up being fun.

When kids night starts the DJ throws out handfuls of Tootsie Rolls, they girls finally decided that would be fun and gathered up a bunch of them! They have dancing and karaoke for the kids, kids get to have pizza (and ice cream that we didn't stay for). Piper and Steve did a little dancing, it was fun.
Grandpa Jerry was very hesitant about getting his pinky nail painted, but after seeing everyone do it, he gave in! It was so sweet!

Piper repainting cousin Sam and Gavin's nails :)
Rod, Jerry and Diane....so awesome Rod and Diane were able to make it this year. Sounds like they are going to aim for every other year b/c of the distance they have to travel. It has been nice getting to know them over the last 4 years!
Serious bean bag tournament was played, everyone lined up to watch. Derek was consistently kicking everyone's butts!
Steve's cousin Kelsey and Aunt Joyce had come and visited on Saturday night and then came back again on Thursday to hang out again. Piper even got to paint Aunt Joyce's nails and she has long, nice, pretty nails....unlike the rest of us!
Presley got out her spin balls (poi is the correct term for them), so cool to see at night.

Jason, Jordan, Matt (I get one of these pictures every year of him!) and Derek.
Most of the time we up past midnight almost every night. There were a couple 1 am and 2 am's, which isn't so bad when you can sleep in the next morning! And our kids SLEPT in.....they did go to bed late but before midnight....and we didn't get up before 9, and most days we had to wake Piper up at 11 am! No joke!
