Week in review

Tuesday I was able to meet my college friend Cindy for dinner! It has been about a year since we have seen each other and we live 15 miles from each other! She is one of those friends who you don't have to see all the time and you can pick up right where you left off! Talking about kids, husbands, friends and just catching up!

Wednesday we had Piper's soccer, which was mentioned in the previous post and Thursday we thought about going to the fair but it was SO hot that we decided to pass! Then we thought about going Friday but it was supposed to rain (and boy did it rain!) and I got a call about 4 from Piper's daycare that she was sick! :( Presley and I had plans to do some back to school shopping and get dinner) so Steve picked her up and took her to the walk in clinic for the hour wait to see a doctor.
Presley and I did some power shopping, had a good dinner, she was in a good, happy, hyper mood all while Steve was getting Piper in to find out that she has strep and 102 temperature. So he got her meds and got her home and Presley and I picked up ice cream for her and Piper on our way home!

We played Saturday by ear.....we had planned on going to the fair but with Piper we just weren't sure. She slept good all night and was in a super good mood Saturday morning so we got up and went!  This girl had been waiting for the fair for a week and we just couldn't bear to put it off one more day!

She found EVERY pig in the fairgrounds and wanted her picture taken with them....except for the real ones! She didn't like the big, fat, black pigs....she wanted the cute, small, pink ones....which we did find!

Presley was less than impressed with most of the fair.....she was whiny and irritated most of the day. She didn't want her picture taken but then complained when I was only taking pictures of Piper! So I got one good one while she was waiting for ice cream.

 The cute baby pigs!
In the old school house, she was able to trace and color a pig!
'Get the picture over with Mom!'
 The chain saw art....another pig!
In the Hall of Law and Flame Piper was very willing to participate in the activities (Presley was too cool).
This cracks me up!!
Got in the fire truck and turned on the lights.
Fine, I'll participate in a picture!
We even practiced the 'stop, drop and roll' activity. Thank goodness there are no pictures since they 'made' me do it with her! Presley once again, did not participate.
We found a place to sit down and have a time out since they were just blah. Of all the things at the fair and they kept themselves entertained with the hole in the table.....figures.
This just screams 'STATE FAIR'!

The big slide is a must.....but not for Presley this year.

The weather was perfect and the fair was busy, as usual. I wish we would've had more time to walk around and eat some more but I was the only one willing to stick it out a little longer so we headed home about 3:30.

We were going to have the neighbors over after dinner but our kids were so tired and grouchy and had too many time-outs in 2 hours that we cancelled on that idea. We had dinner and then went outside to play some soccer. Piper prefers that she is the only one on the field and the only one to kick the ball. She is not very aggressive yet, but we tried to at least get her involved to show her how soccer is supposed to be played and that it can be fun. Other than that, we stayed in, watched a movie, had popcorn and Piper was sleeping by 8 and Presley by 9.

Sunday we all slept in until about 9 and then it was go time. I got up and took a walk, Steve started in the kitchen while the girls played. Steve and I got so much done around the house/garage/yard and the kids played so good! Which is awesome they can play like that together for so long however they drag EVERY toy out so while we got a lot of things done, we have toys EVERYWHERE! Then we did a late lunch/early dinner on the patio at El Mariachi. Got home about 4:30 and went to the neighbors Wendy and Jason's so the girls could a play for a bit before Piper had soccer practice.

Piper's soccer practice...ugh. Steve took her. They decided to have a scrimmage against another team. Piper's friend wouldn't go out on the field and I guess Piper would but she just stood there not really knowing what to do. She would rather everyone else get off the field so she can play by herself! But she was there, in her shin guards and on the field....it's a start!
