Day 7/Friday

Friday we all slept in again. My mom woke us up at 10:30! We got up, dressed, packed and loaded up the car. We headed to my aunts for brunch with the family and to have the 'award' ceremony for the Olympics (yes, there are trophies). We said our good-byes and hit the road by 12:15. We decided to take the scenic route back towards our hotel in Portland. We wanted to be able to see some sights of the area before our flight left the next morning.

We stopped and saw Smith Rock....super cool area to hike, climb and take in the area. My kids didn't to get out of the car b/c they are losers, but we made them and then they actually thought it was kinda cool and enjoyed the 30 minutes OUT of the car!

Then we made our way to Multnomah Falls just east of Portland. It was so cool and so neat to see....Presley, who isn't impressed with anything said 'who cares, you just look at it!'...hopefully some day she'll appreciate these things and stuff like this that we don't have in Iowa!

 

 

 

Wearing my Hawkeye shirt in honor of Matt Stoll, the husband of a highschool friend who died in a motorcycle accident while we were gone. He was a huge Hawkeye fan and his visitation was this night and they asked for everyone to wear Hawkeye gear in remembrance of him. Unfortunately Erica is still in a coma, we are all still praying for her recovery! :(

 

After a short time there we headed to the hotel. The girls were SO pumped about a hotel room! Two weeks of vacation and they are most impressed with the cheap hotel and pool! Figures! We got settled and then found a local place to eat....Park Stone http://parkstonerestaurants.com/ It was really good. The kids were good, we got to drink some local beers and overall it was a good way to end our Portland trip! After that we spent a short time in the hotel pool and then settled down with some microwave popcorn and the Disney channel!
