Ahhh....time off. It has been long over due! Tuesday night we headed out to Prairie Meadows to watch the horse races and the fireworks. The place gets packed and the fireworks are awesome! Presley did great, even though we had some down time between things. She was up too late but that's what you do on vacation right?
The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! When we lived in Urbandale it was so easy to walk up to the parade and carnival and we always had our annual holiday get-together! :( Not so much this year since things have changed. We did go up to the parade with some friends, but man, that heat even at 10 am was brutal. Presley never complains that she is hot and she looked at me with her bright red face and said she was too hot. So we found a spot in the shade and she started eating her candy, she was NOT interested in the rest of the parade, which was a bummer but she was happy!
After that we quickly walked thru our house with my parents to give them an idea of the layout since the framing is complete and the windows are in now! Next week the HVAC, plumbing and roofing guys should be there and Steve is making friends with the electricians and painters to see if we can get some extras throw in for the price of a case of beer! :)
Then we spent the rest of the day/evening and night at home! Too hot to do anything, we had planned on taking Presley swimming after dinner but after a nice screaming, crying tantrum that was thrown out the window.
This morning I didn't hear Presley get up until about 9 am! WOOHOO, we all needed it! Then I took her swimming for little bit until it started to get busy! I love getting in the pool with her, she is so happy and it's fun. I apologize for those having to see the excessive boob and baby bump coming out of my tankini swimsuit.....but I'm not buying a maternity swimsuit.
Our flight leaves at 7 am tomorrow, so it will be an early to bed and early to rise next 24 hours! I'm hoping Presley does good on the plane and has a great time over the next week!
