Last Saturday we got up bright and early and left for the airport about 5:45 to catch our flight at 8:00. We took a 2.5 hour flight to Phoenix, which was kinda nice b/c we were seating 2 and 2, meaning the girls couldn't fight! :) We were supposed to have almost 2 hours between flights but waiting for a gate to open and the boarding time of our next flight from Phoenix to Portland was shortened to about 25 minutes....just about enough time to get to our gate and grab a bite to eat. The girls took some time to wrestle on the floor of the airport (really gross, I know!) but they needed to wear off some energy! Piper got a tiny scratch in the process and for the rest of the night she was unable to use her hand...no joke.
They did pretty good on both flights and then we had to get our rental car for a 3 hours drive to Black Butte Ranch! As we predicted both girls fell asleep in the car, so that was nice!
We got to the cabin, got situation, unpacked and started chatting. We were lucky enough to share a cabin with my parents and Sam, Scott and Boston, we surprisingly all got along fairly well with no issues!
Slowly but surely everyone started arriving and eventually we all met up at another cabin for a pizza dinner. The girls were hesitant at first......hanging around us, not really talking, most of these people they haven't seen in at least a year, if not two!
See her hand in a fist.....b/c of the scratch at the airport that morning!
Finally after dinner the kids (old and young) went out onto the golf course to play football, frisbee and just run around and play! I was so happy they ventured out there without us, that was the moment I knew they would be good to go with everyone and feel more confident to just go and have fun!
My cousin Lee with his daughter Cameron in the background and Presley with the frisbee.

Raking the sand trap....with one hand....b/c of the scratch on her hand.
Cameron, Tyler and Mary
My cousin Brian, who is an awesome rapper!!
Kelly was sitting by the tree watching the action and Piper decided that she was going to sit with her. She doesn't really know Kelly (my cousin Lee's wife, who I love!!), but she walked on over and started chatting!
The four of us shared a room in our cabin, it worked out pretty well. We'd pop a movie in and they would usually fall asleep watching it, which was way better than the option of one of us laying with them and then getting tired and wanting to go to sleep (like we do at home!)
