So about two months ago the 2nd graders came downtown to check out the indoor winters farmer's market. They were able to take pictures and observe buying/selling, goods/services, marketing...all those good things.
And then each child was to provide a good or service to sell at their farmer's market yesterday at school. She originally wanted to do cookies, but we thought maybe a lot of kids would be doing that. So Presley and Steve got together and decided to make little Christmas ornaments. They were really cute and I wish I had a better picture of all of them. They made 40 and each item sold for $.25.
Her sign (which I can't get to rotate!)
Some of these kids were SO creative! I should've taken more pictures! The big hits were popcorn, snow cones and snow globes. Some kids told jokes, sold paper airplanes, painted nails, did temporary tattoos, sold cookies, ornaments, friendship bracelets, pet rocks, bookmarks.
This was a list from one of the other room of things they were selling.
She was too cool to have her mom taking her picture. Whatever, get over it.
The Hawkeyes ornaments sold out before the Cyclones did, she saved/hid one so Steve could buy it when we got there! :) She made 10 of each of those and then 20 Johnston Dragon ones.
Once you sold out of your items then you were free to go shopping in the other rooms, she got a shoulder massage :)
She bought a snow globe and a jolly rancher stocking!
They had early out yesterday, so when the market was over at 2:30 I took her home with me. I worked for a while and she hung out until Steve got home from the store and picking up Piper.Last night we had a 50th birthday celebration for Jeff, a family friend. It was awesome to see so many people there to wish him a happy birthday! It was at Chuck's, which was amazing!!! We definitely need to go there more often!
They had a cake made for his birthday, around his favorite movie (I think) (I wish I knew the guys name who made this cake b/c it's unreal!) but how awesome is this cake? Completely edible!
