Thursday we were able to enjoy another perfect breakfast and lunch before we had to leave. I spent forever sitting in a chair overlooking the water, reading and watching the birds.
Our taxi picked us up at 1 for our flight that was scheduled to leave at 3:30...minutes before we left we got the email that said the flight was delayed 45 minutes. Well this ended up to be almost 2 hours delayed and we didn't leave until 5:20. This basically killed any chance we had of getting our connecting flight in Dallas to DSM. :( So the next flight out was 7:30 Friday morning....I just wanted to get home and see my babies!
Now let me back up......and tell you how things were going at my parents house this week. Monday P was sick....Presley who hasn't missed a day of school all year! So she stayed home sick with Pa, then Holly's dog Buck'i ate mouse poison....so my dad took sick Presley and poisoned dog to the vet to have her stomach pumped. Mom got home from work, took P to the doctor and she had strep. So Presley missed Monday and Tuesday of school. My mom got a bad stomach bug and was in bed sick Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Piper missed daycare on Wednesday b/c her neck was hurting and she just wasn't acting like her normal self. Thursday we were supposed to be home and now we were 12 hours late. Then my parents had Friday to get ready to have 35 people over to their house for a get together for my dad's side of the family. Needless to say my parents had a heck of a week! They rock!
AND Kylie and Eric's kids had pink eye and Cari and Todd's daugher ended up with pink eye AND strep! What are the chances???
Back to our journey home......We got up Friday morning and due to a long story that includes tequila and customs we were almost late for our flight! We got to the terminal as they were boarding but we made it back to DSM about 10. We got the girls stuff from my parents house, ran to the grocery store, unpacked, started laundry, ran some errands and then decided to get Presley out of school early to surprise her! Then we picked up Piper and both girls were SO happy! And we were excited to see them too, we really missed them (more than I thought we would!).
We headed out to Adventureland to get our pictures taken for our season passes and then did a very early dinner at Jethroni Pepperoni (horrible name, great food with large portions!). After that we went home and just vegged out together. It was rainy outside so it made it easy to just hang out inside and cuddle! Home sweet home!!
