Well, she did it. She rolled over from her front to her back, all by herself. It might have been luck. It might have been a one time thing....that might not happen again for a few months, but it happened! Now we gotta work on finding those hands....it'll happen soon.
By the way, I don't want Danny to win American Idol or Filipe to win the Biggest Loser. But I am looking forward to So You Think You Can Dance, if you haven't watched it yet, you should. It's amazing what those people can do! Maybe in my next life I'll be a dancer. haha
Why is it that when we don't have a baby, both of our jobs are slow and we were hoping just to keep our jobs. Now, with a 3 month old I have 8 hours of mandatory overtime and Steve has been working additional side-jobs with his brother. The money is good, but it's all tiring.

Another week in the life of us
I'm still trying to figure out how to work as much overtime as I'm supposed to be in 5 days. It's hard especially when the weather is nice and I don't really want to work weekends! Steve spent a lot of the week waterproofing/staining our deck and other than that we took a couple walks with the nice weather!
Friday night we had some people over just to hang out. We had a good turn out and it was nice to see everyone. Colleen brought Bridget over, she was so cute in her little yellow dress. She is just like her mother! :) Our friends Janelle and RT brought little Kayson by too, he is such a good baby I'm not sure what they thought of Presley and her usual night crying fit. She was good for the first half of the night and then I think she was just tired of all the commotion.
Saturday night we had a wedding to go to and Aunt Holly was nice enough to watch Presley for us....it might be the last time for awhile. Presley cried and screamed for her. She said it was good birth control! ha!!
and now it's Sunday, Steve is working with his brother and Presley and I are sitting here playing, watching a little 90210. If Steve would've stayed home today, I would've gone to work! :( no fun!
Here is Presley in her summer dress she received from Aunt Samantha. See how much she has grown compared to Brandon, my Cabbage Patch doll! Here is Presley in her little hat, trying to keep the sun off her skin and out of her eyes! Isn't she cute!

Bad parents?...
Friday night we had our first night away from Presley. Some friends of ours had a party, kinda for our 30th birthdays (since I was pregnant on mine and Steve's bday was on Easter)..and it was a good excuse to get people together. My mother graciously volunteered to watch Presley overnight for us. This was really hard.
My mom watches Presley a lot for us and I don't want to take advantage of her. Plus we felt bad leaving our baby so we could drink and have a night of good sleep. I knew my mom wouldn't sleep much. I was more worried about my mom getting any sleep than I was about Presley. We knew she was in good hands. We knew that we weren't abandoning her, but we still felt a little guilty. It was good for us though, we needed it. Thanks mom for being such a good mom and grandma.

Pet peeves
I have a couple pet peeves that just irk me. So please help and don't do these things around me! haha...
- people who don't use their turn-signal....this bothers alot of people but it seems there are a lot of people who don't use them!
- the sound of static, or the buzzing of bugs....when a fly flies by your ear and you hear that buzzing sound....ick, hate it!
- people who talk on their cell phone when checking out a store or when ordering food at a restaurant...can't it wait 5 minutes?
- people who are just rude or people who think they are better than others. If you are at a restaurant and it is really busy, have a little patience, you are not the only person waiting. The waiter is doing the best they can, being mean isn't going to help the situation. Go home and cook your own meal.
- people who get married b/c they think all their problems will go away, they won't....and people who have babies to get closer to their spouse. That's just plain silly.
- stupid people. period.
I thought I shouldn't be all negative so I'll add some things that make me happy too!
- the sounds of birds chirping in the morning.
- the smell of rain in the spring.
- people who are nice/polite. When you say excuse me, thank you or your welcome to people just b/c it's the nice thing to do. It is refreshing to be around nice people.
- the smile of my baby.
- laughing so hard I cry, I'm lucky to have two of the funniest people I know in my life, Holly and Steve. Thanks for making me cry....in a good way!
- good weather! We can walk outside, drink beers on the deck, grill out, use our fire pit to keep warm as the sun goes down. Man I love summer.
- food. I know food doesn't solve all my problems, but man I love food. I don't need to be bored, stressed, tired or feeling sorry for myself for an excuse to eat bad foods. Donuts are my downfall.....I should really start working out again!

From Presley....
Busy weekend
Well we started off the weekend with the family. We ordered pizza and dyed Easter eggs, then the boys went to drink some beers and play pool, while the girls sang along to the Mamma Mia movie and drank a little wine. It was a good night with the family. Unfortunately I started coming down with a cold, but I'm tough.
Saturday we made our weekly trip to Target and did a little cleaning since our friends Nick and Sarah were going to stay the night at our house. We warned them that Presley would be up early and often, but they were willing to deal with it! :) We went out to dinner for Steve's 30th birthday that night. Nick, Sarah, Todd, Cari, Aunt Holly and her new 'friend' Ben all joined us at Johnny's Italian Steakhouse! One of our favorites! Then we went out for some drinks, it was nice to get out into a social setting again! I went home about midnight and relieved Grandma of her babysitting duties for the night.
Easter Sunday we slept in, well as much as we can! Then Presley had to find her Easter basket, so daddy helped her! Then we were off to my parents for Easter lunch/Steve's birthday lunch. It was very good! Then we started the usual family four-square game! Oh yeah!
My mom had saved my first Easter dress from 1979, so that is what Presley wore for Easter. She was so cute in her little tights and the big ole bonnet!

Growing girl!
Presley had her 2 month dr's appt on Monday. She now weighs 10 lbs 9 ozs and is 22 3/4 inches long. She gained almost 5 pounds and 3 inches. At birth she was in the 3 percentile and now is up to 25th percentile in both. The doctor was happy with her weight gain and her strength and she seemed impressed with how strong she is, so that is good!
She got her shots :( Her face turned bright red and she started screaming, you know, to the point where she isn't breathing...and you think in your head 'breathe Presley, just take a breath of air already!'
So now we go back at 4 months and get another round of shots. Here's a pic of us at the dr's office, nice and naked before the crying started!

Are we lucky or spoiled?....or a little of both?
My mom did in-home daycare about 10 years ago, and has been patiently waiting for one of us girls to have a baby so she would have a reason to start up again. We are lucky! I don't think either of us realizes how lucky we are to have our family so close to us. My parents and sisters both live in town and all are great about coming over to help, going with me to Target or just watching her while we nap. Steve's family all live within an hour of us and I know they would all be more than willing to help us out if we needed. Many of our friends don't have any family in town and I'm sad for them. But maybe I shouldn't be, maybe this makes them stronger parents, not having or wanting to depend on help from other people?!
I'm not the kind of person who likes to depend on someone else. I don't like to borrow money from my parents, or ask for favors. Hell, I feel bad if a guy buys me a drink at the bar! But after having Presley, I have to swallow my pride and ask for help sometimes. Even though I still feel bad sometimes, I realize I should be happy we have never-ending help from everyone we know.
Taking Presley to my mom's for daycare is the best thing we could do for her (besides one of us staying home. Be realistic Jessica, that'll never happen). Some day Presley will realize how lucky she is to have such a close relationship with her grandparents because there is no one else in this world that could love that baby as much as Steve and I do.

Two months old
Our two month old....
- loves to smile and coo, especially when she has just woke up!
- likes falling asleep on the couch surrounded by blankets, we know this is a big no-no but it's not like we leave her there when we aren't around to make sure she isn't smothering herself!
- is beginning to like her baths, but still hates being cold afterwards. So we have begun dressing her on the floor in front of the space heater!
- doesn't like to soothe herself to sleep....yet. We are working on it.
- is quickly growing her hair back! (come on curls, we are waiting)
- is growing, our predictions at her 2 month appt on Monday are - 21 inches long and at least 10 pounds. She is finally beginning to wear her 0-3 month clothes. We are beginning to see some baby fat! :)
- is very squirmy! Kicks a lot and moves her arms around, though she hasn't found her hands yet...we are working on this too.
- likes the sound of water, the hair dryer and the vacuum. We use these in hopes that she'll stop crying during her nightly fits....and it usually works.
- has already thrown a crying fit in the mall and at Target. Fun!
- is probably the most adorable baby I've ever seen!
