Halloween

The Friday before Halloween, we didn't do much, hung out at home and just kept warm. Unfortunately for Saturday morning it was freezing and Presley had a soccer game at 9:00. Steve stayed home with Piper and P and I bundled up to head out. We did leave at half-time b/c Steve and I were going to Jerry's dad's funeral at 11. We went home got the girls ready to be dropped off at neighbor Sarah's for a couple hours and then headed out.
The service was a little long (even Jerry will admit it)...2 hours. But the first hour was AMAZING! Seriously it was so uplifting, inspirational and emotional! Jerry's brother played Amazing Grace on his saxophone, Jerry got up and spoke about his dad....so many tears.

We picked up the girls, ran to the store and got some needs and wants including pumpkins since we were not prepared this year at all!  Then we ended up back over at Sarah's to watch the Iowa game! The kids all played good (and might have gotten into some trouble also) but overall a nice, relaxing night.

Sunday Steve went golfing and the girl and I hung out, made puppy chow, they played and I cleaned. We did make a trip to Target and I was proud of them! Piper took her birthday money of $40 and Presley took $30 she had in her room from various things and I told them they could buy something with their own money. I let them know that if they didn't find anything they REALLY wanted, then they should wait.....and if they found something that costs too much money maybe they could combine their money together for it.
So obviously we did my shopping first and then headed to the toys....man, those girls eyes light up when they see the toys....b/c rarely do we actually LOOK at them.
They found this doll Jeep.....for $60....they actually decided and agreed that they would buy it together with both of their monies.

Let me tell you, this thing is legit. All the headlights, taillights, wipers, RADIO actually work. And we can connect it to the blutooth on my phone. Seriously, they were so excited to get it home and play with it....and it didn't cost me a dime! :)

Once Steve got home that night, we did dinner and carved pumpkins!!

Monday was Halloween. I left work a little early so I could help do hair and make up for Presley and Piper before Sarah's annual Halloween get together!
We have our princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast and our villain Mal from Descendants.

I think P pulled this off pretty good actually!

We headed over the Sarah's for the chaos! There were 20 kids that ended up at her house for trick or treat! She does a great job of organizing all of this without getting stressed like I would be.

The mom's take the kids out and the dad's hand out candy at the door. It was freezing this year. Thankfully Steve did come out with us for a bit and ran back and got Piper a coat about 4 houses in. Otherwise I'm not sure she would've lasted the 40 minutes she did!
I walked around with her and Presley ended up tagging along with some other kids (who were running and much faster than Miss Piper was!) so we didn't see much of her. We went back to Sarah's and Piper bobbed for apples and ate a bunch of candy!
It was a good night despite the cold ass weather and the girls had a good time! Thank you Sarah and Kyle for hosting!!
