Tues/Wed/Thursday

Tuesday Piper slept in and I worked out while Presley played then we got ready to get their hair cut! It had been a LONG time since Piper had hers cut and Presley just needed a trim.
  Before

 After! So much better!
We did lunch and then headed home for a bit before we had meet the teacher! Steve had to work late so he missed out this year! Presley has two of her good friends in her class, so she is excited and her teacher seemed very nice and was not the 'boy' teacher that she didn't want! :)
Little Miss has one more year before she can claim this as her school!

After meet the teacher, we ran Presley to gymnastics. They had a photo booth station set up!

Steve met us there and then I ran to meet Sarah to bottle the wine that we had made back in June. It is such a fun process and I hope I can go back again soon. The wine we made takes 21 months before it is 'good', so now I just have to remember that April 2019 I have these 3 bottles of wine to drink! After that we went to The Cheese Bar on Ingersoll http://www.cheesebardsm.com/ and had cheese fondue a couple drinks to end our night!

Wednesday, Steve took Piper to daycare so Presley and I could enjoy the last day of summer vacation together. We got up and she wanted ice cream for breakfast.....it was the last day of summer! How could I say no? :)
We hung out for a while and played Sorry, which she won and then decided to get pedicures! It's a nice relaxing hour for us to hang out and she has to talk to me b/c she can't get up and walk away! HA!
After that we ran to Walmart and then went to Burger King, who was out of chicken nuggets? WTH? How do they run out of chicken nuggets??? Then we picked up her friend Maris (who is playing volleyball with her) to have a play date. We went back home and they played and played for 3 hours. I think they had a good time and I'm glad that we got one play date in this summer!

After we dropped Maris off at home, we picked up Piper from daycare and grabbed some ice cream at Van Dee's before headed to Piper's gymnastics! Steve had to work late so he headed home about 6 to get dinner started for us to eat once we got home.

We did baths and basically got ready for an early bedtime since Presley started school Thursday!

Today. The first day of 3rd grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Jaworski who has taught for 13 years! I dropped Presley off at KTC and without another thought she walked in! So much easier than summer drop-offs! The staff at Wallace know Presley so well and know she can be a tough nut to crack to get her to talk or smile or just be comfortable around them. I love them!

I know Presley is going to shine this year given this summer of courage and change and determination that she has found. Be brave, be nice, speak when people talk to you, listen to others, trust your gut and never doubt yourself Presley Grace!

Monday

I had Mon/Tues/Wed off this week b/c KTC is closed before school starts. Monday both girls stayed home with me and it was rainy. As much as I wanted to do something outside and fun with them, they were whiny and fighting a lot so we didn't go anywhere. They helped me do a little cleaning and they played and they did a lot of playing in the rain! The perfect way to spend a rainy day!

Sunday

Sunday we didn't do much. The girls played and played so well and Steve and I just got stuff done around the house. I LOVE when they just go play, the imagination is awesome and I'm so glad they can do it without us!
We had Brittany come babysit so that we could go back to the fair and the Kid Rock concert that night. We got to enjoy things without the kids, we could walk around and look at stuff and stop and relax. Some nice stranger gave us a drink ticket for the beer/wine place at the top top of the hill so we did that, the weather was perfect. It was just nice!

One of my fav 80's pop stars, Tiffany, was playing on the free stage that night. I convinced Steve to go to the concert a little late so I could see her since both started at 8. It was 8:15 and she was still not on stage and Steve said by 8:30 we had to head to Kid Rock! I ran to the restroom, near the back of the stage and saw her band standing back there....so I might have made my way up a couple steps and saw her talking to some people. I stood there waiting, patiently. She headed to the stage and I called her name and she came over and took her picture with me! I was SO giddy!!!!

We only stayed for one song and then headed to the concert. It was a really good show! I was worried it might be too political for my liking, but it wasn't at all. It was high energy and a good time! I'm glad Steve talked me into going! ;)

State Fair

Saturday morning we got up and headed to the fair since the first time we went we didn't get to do much. We were ready to hit the fair and spend the day there.......and we tried.
They loved the firetruck....
Piper was not comfortable when the fireman started talking to her though.
Steve and Piper did the big slide, she loved it! Presley didn't want to do it for some reason, whatever.

Presley loved the horses! and Piper still loved the pigs, but only the pink ones!

The school house was a hit, they probably would've stayed there all day.
This was how she should've spent the afternoon.
They were really impressed with the old phones and talking thru them!
We did have some food....the apple taco was pretty good. Apples slices with caramel for the kids, though they preferred plain apples with NO caramel. The brisket bacon grilled cheese, was AMAZING! The kids favorite things are popcorn, mini donuts and ice cream....boring!
Piper was whining in the beginning that she was tired and didn't want to walk, which I get, she is 4 years old and we were asking her to do a lot of walking right after we had basically woken her up that morning. But she sucked it up for the most part after that. However, Presley couldn't deal. We were those parents quietly yelling and threatening to spank their kids in the middle of crowds of people. The attitude was HORRID, the whining and talking back and refusal to just act like a normal child was too much for us to handle, so we left. I'm sure she didn't take us seriously but too bad! We got home and each spent time in their rooms cleaning.

Needless to say we didn't do much that night!

Presley

I am so proud of her for trying new things....soccer! She hasn't complained so far and seems to be learning and proud of herself! We'll see how the games go in a couple weeks! Wish her (us) luck!

And she learned how to ride a bike and that is ALL she wants to do! Awesome summer for this girl!

And she is going to try volleyball! Her friend Maris signed up with her so they can both try it! I am worried about this b/c she is going to have to hit it and be prepared to be hit and miss the ball! I am just hoping that she gives it a chance! I'm sure there will be pictures to come!
