PV - Day Four

We seemed to have the same morning routine every day...got up and had breakfast at 8 or 8:30 (as much as we all wanted to sleep, we are all parents and weren't able to sleep in as much as we wanted), then some people went back for a mid-morning nap, others found a beach chair by the pool and read their books (this girl!), and some opened beers and hung out! The perfect way to ease into every day!

Wednesday we headed back to the beach/boardwalk area that we had been at the night before to do some looking, shopping, watching, drinking and eaten.
There was a guy who stacked rocks....it was freaking awesome! I still don't understand how he was able to do it, but he got a dollar in his tip jar from me for it!
This act took FOREVER before anything ever happened and honestly was not really worth the wait.

Kylie chilling while the men fly by her.
We stopped for lunch and Steve and Todd got the red snapper, the actual full fish. Eyeballs, teeth, scales and all. Cari was not impressed! :)

We went back to house later that afternoon, did some more pool time (reading time for me) ate another amazing dinner of chicken fajitas (seriously so good!) and then sat at this table for 3 more hours playing more Cards Against Humanity, talking, drinking and watching the sunset!
Sunset from the dinner table. Love it!

PV - Day Three - Part 2

Yes, I had to break this day into two posts....got a little picture crazy on Tuesday! I know you are just begging for more pictures and you are in luck b/c I have a ton more for you, no worries! I know what you are thinking...."Come on Jessica! Give us more photo dumps"! Okay, already!
We got to the restaurant on Tuesday night for dinner and it was awesome. So fancy and nice! Steve really wanted to bring this huge bottle of tequila home with us for his tequila collection but it was mucho dinero!

I got the shrimp.
Todd got octopus (gross)
Us! :)
They had asked if we were celebrating any occasion so we told them it was Cari's birthday (which is in May!) They brought out this fancy dessert tray with a huge candle (small firework) and the harp player came over! It was pretty funny!

On a side note: When we went on our cruise a couple years ago with Todd and Cari, some how it got to be my birthday and the waiters sang to me and brought me an extra dessert (super embarrassing!). So now she was able to experience the fun!

After dinner Todd was not feeling good (though he doesn't blame it on the octopus, like the rest of us do) so he and Cari headed back to the house. The 4 of us went walking around another beach/boardwalk area, definitely more touristy than the other place but just as much fun. We found Senor Frogs and Kylie and I did some line dancing with the staff there....I love line dancing, like really love it!
Then we found another bar called The Redneck Sombrero, country music, almost no one there but us so we could sit on the balcony of the 2nd and 3rd stories looking down and out onto the boardwalk and ocean. Awesome!
They even took our picture and put it on FB....#Iowa

Steve and Eric might have liked the pole a little much........

This time we had the address to get home but Cari and Todd had taken the keys to the house.....of course, they didn't have their cell phones on, the house phone only rings upstairs and you can't hear it downstairs, so good thing that Eric is tall b/c he had to scale a wall and climb over to open the door for us from the inside! #securitybreach

PV - Day Three - Part 1

Tuesday we ended back at the same place we had dinner at on Sunday, El Dorado. We found some beach chairs, a waiter and got comfortable! We watched some of the water sports going on......
Said 'No, thank you' ONE MILLION times to all the vendors, especially this one who is selling shrimp and fish on a stick, all day, in the heat.....gross.
Then Steve, Cari and Eric decided to go para-sailing!
Steve taking off....
Steve coming down for his landing.
Cari taking off.....
Eric coming down after his turn
Todd posing!
and the masks were back again!
Both him and Steve ended up buying masks also.
Our bill for over 3 hours at this place only over $5000 pesos! :) but the margaritas and food were worth it! That night we had dinner reservations at this nice place that had been recommended to us, so we went back to the house, showered and got prettied up for dinner!
We even figured out the timer on our camera to get a group picture!

PV- Day Two

Monday we got up and had an AMAZING breakfast prepared by the cook Estella, I don't know why I didn't take a picture of every meal she made b/c they were all SO good! We hung out a while, all trying to wake up. We watched this guy trim this palm tree.....he climbed only with a rope on a VERY tall palm tree.

We watched these pelican type birds fly over the ocean and then take nose dives straight down into the water catching fish....it was super cool to watch!

We finally ended up going to the beach where we had dinner the night before, we walked a little and then found a bar right on the beach and sat, talked, drank and ate for hours! There are SO many vendors that come around trying to get you to buy anything and everything! Steve and Todd ended up buying these hats, love it!
And then Eric had to go and buy a super hero mask, this ended up being an ongoing joke the rest of the trip.
We bought a couple other things and our bill for the restaurant was only $2355 pesos....which ended up being like total $150 for 6 of us for over 2 hours. Then we headed back to the house to hang out some more.

We took a walk down the beach.

These were the stairs from the beach up to our house, including the very tall palm tree the guy had climbed earlier!
Eric decided to try some snorkling........
The waves were big and fierce! The first wave broke his snorkle gear!
We did some more swimming in the pool and then decided to play Cards Against Humanity on this perfect table overlooking the ocean. A bowl of ice cold beer and fresh guacemole....seriously no better way to play this game than this table right here!
The girls....me, Kylie and Cari
